Brakes leaking

Hey guys, whats up? Been away on duty. My wife tells me how my "Lady" is doing all the time. Today she told me that the front and back brakes are leaking fluid on the drivers side. I asked her if she could see where it was coming from. She said that there is a "nipple" on the caliper where its coming from. copuld the fitting just need to be tighten, or do I have to do a drake bleed when I get home?

Sounds like it may be coming from the bleeder by her description... either they are loose, or possibly stripped... Either way, if you remove the bleeder to replace it, you'd be best to re-bleed the entire system while you are at it and check for any other possible leaks. Just be careful when you check them, since if they are tight and leaking, they may snap off, and cause you even more work....:cross-eye

I love my wife, but like most wifes, she dosen't know about the car. I'll have to try it when I get back. Have you heard about the 5 lug conversion? I was going to go with that because the front comes with 5 lug a brake pads. I can kill 2 with one, but they cost about $400 a pair. The rear is done to your half shafts. They cost about $110. Not bad?

Hey Brian, what conversion are you actually talking about? Brake upgrades or lug stud upgrades? Or both. $400 for a 4 to 5 lug upgrade? Why did front and back brakes on only one side start to leak all of a sudden? Sounds a little odd, the brake system is divided front to back, not side to side. Where are you getting the prices for your parts that you mentioned and what parts are they?:devious:

Frank, I am guessing that the right side was leaking before I left. The one spot looked really old. I wanted to know that the 5 lug axle conversion was the same bolt pattern as the front break (and vise versa) from Modern motorsport. $110 for the axles and $300 for the front brakes with 5 lug hubs. So I guess it would be $400 total. They must be the same if they are selling them on the same site? Need a little clarity.

Thanks

Yeah Brian, the bolt patterns are the same. I have the four bolt honda adapters. Wish I had extra cash for the five lug upgrade though. Working on getting the parts for both four bolt and five bolt upgrades. Making the last parts to buy are the Rotor hats in both 4 and 5 lugs. Once I have gathered all the parts needed to do the conversion all i'll need to do is buy less beeer for a bit to send away for the Billit hats from Ross C. www.modernmotorsports.com :devious:

Like Bambikiller240 said. A loop in the alternators regulator circuit will allow power to be leaked out back into the cars ignition system even if the switch is off. Look into what Carl said about the Diode installation, which will isolate the alternator at shut down. :devious:
