Posted December 22, 200321 yr comment_61582 Hey Everyone!I am so excited because I finally got rid of that damn clunk in my rear end!! I had already changed bushings/ujoints/struts/etc a year ago but it was still there and got louder as time went by. I bought a new diff from an 89 300ZX and put that in last night and WOW!! what a difference. It is soooo much quieter now!! I havent taken the cover off of the old one yet to see what was wrong but something was worn inside. Just wanted to share my excitement. Have a good one!ROOPZ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9419-woooohooooo/ Share on other sites
December 22, 200321 yr comment_61606 I have that lovely sound only when I go over a bump and I've done everything but open up the chunk. I put in that limited slip differential from Motorsports and it was fine until ...............one day. I've checked everything under the car and nothing externally is loose. January 5, 200421 yr comment_62817 Yes, that was one of the first things I checked. I've lowered the car 1 1/2 inches and have tokico adjustable struts. Thought maybe the springs were bouncing up and down, but they are secure. I trully believe it's in the rear end somewhere. I'm going to take it back to the shop that loaded the gears in the chunk. Some times it sounds worse than others. It sounds like metal to metal but I've throughly checked everything that's visable.
