Is somebody can tell me if the optional fan shroud on the 72 z was metal or plastic and if there is numbers stamped somewhere. I bought sometimes ago a used shroud that is supposed to fit this model and is all metal. Also, I am looking for a splash pan. Was it an option too or a standard item? Any help appreciated. Richard

I am running a splash pan but I dont remember any numbers on it when I cleaned and painted it . I have it off and in the attic at present and will take a look and see about the numbers. Gary

You keep all your extra Z parts up in your attic too. I bet if I gathered all my Z parts in my attic, I'd pretty much have another complete car.

Do you have a pic of the splash pan? I read of one for the 280Z, but never saw one. Same thing? I would like to put one on my 280z. Maybe I can incorporate some kind of an air dam?

I picked up a used shroud in 1988 for my 240. It was metal. I believe that the reproductions are plastic. The metal one bolted up using the same mounting points as the radiator.

hey people, I modified a fan shroud from a 78 280z (it's a two piece) to fit my 240Z I works great. I think ive seen an original 240Z shroud made out of metal, (It's a one piece) or im full of shiet ? I know motorsport in california sells a 240Z fan shroud made out of fiber glass for $69.95 (part# 16-7061 www.zcarparts.com its a one piece) I've never seen the splash pan befor so, god bless the CZC forums!
