2ManyZs Posted December 26, 2003 Share #2 Posted December 26, 2003 Yup, they are different, and I don't think there is any way to modify them to work.... you need to use the center linkage for the 4 screw.

I've got a bunch of 3 screw and 4 screws and I thought the center linkages were all the same. Any differences in the linkages would be between the flat tops and the round tops. The flat tops would have a shorter linkage. seerex did mention that the swap was being done on a 260Z.
Bruce Palmer Posted December 26, 2003 Share #4 Posted December 26, 2003 ... ZTherapy and Steve said 3 & 4 screw linkages are the same and the flat top linkage is like and inch shorter. HTH

MariaAZ Posted December 27, 2003 Share #6 Posted December 27, 2003 I have a set of 3 screw round tops in our '73 240Z, and have just completed the swap in our '74 260Z. I purchased the linkage for the '74 from Motorsports and it works great. However, this linkage will not work with the round tops in the '73; I tried it. The difference I noticed was in the metal tab that controls the rear carb; it could also affect the front carb, but once I saw the back wasn't going to fit I didn't pursue it any further. The length of both linkages is the same. I can try to get some digital photos if someone needs them.
