Posted December 31, 200321 yr comment_62388 Ok, So I was driving home from a friends house in my 73' 240. I pulled up to a stoplight, and I look over and is the "old man" in the ferrari. Now I have seen this guy around and he is a great old guy who drives this late 80's ferrari almost everyday I think. I am pretty sure it is a 308 gts. Anyway, my car sparks his attention at the light, and he givs me a little wave as I give him the "nod" (you all know the nod right?). Well I know he probably does not want a drag race so I give him a little bit of rev, thinking maybe I can get some action out of him... About 3000 rpm into first gear I turn my head a bit and give him the "look out the side of the eye" (you all know that one too right?). Well I guess that got him going, or at least enough to entertain me. So we take off and he just stays along the side of me (with medium effort ). Now my car has weber dgv's and a 6 to 1 header, with a 2.5 inch exhaust and a borla straight through muffler. I'll say this, I bought the car SET on putting a v8 in it, but when I got the exhaust and heard the music she puts out I fell in love . I pulled the car up to 7000 rpm and then proceeded to lay some rubber down upon grabing second. As I am pulling off to turn, he gives me the thumbs up. A very enthusiastic thumbs up, I think he liked the sound. It sounds like an f1 car. I love it. December 31, 200321 yr comment_62413 While I was stationed in Italy from 98-02 i drove my 240 all over the country, and most of the older folks thought it was a Ferrari. I would get pulled over by the Carbinieri all the time so they could look at the car. The 240Z was not sold in Italy, so they really had no Idea what it was. We had the body restored and painted while we were there and the guy that did the work had been a Nissan Mechanic in Germany so he really fell in love with the car and it shows in the quality of the work he did. As for the color, when asked what I wanted, I just said that it was a sports car and he should use his best judgement. He chose a beautiful Ducatti red (AKA Ferrari red) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9516-ferrari-approval/#findComment-62413 Share on other sites
December 31, 200321 yr comment_62419 I was driving in my home town (Napa, Ca) I pull up to a stop light and a red Ferrari 355 Spider pulls up next to me. I look at the driver and give him the "I'm not worthy" bow jesture, and he motions his hand as if to say "you may rise, you ARE worthy"LOL Someday I will have my Ferrari Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9516-ferrari-approval/#findComment-62419 Share on other sites

December 31, 200321 yr comment_62427 Same lines as our Z's......kinda. Honestly, I think our Z cars are a much better looking car. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9516-ferrari-approval/#findComment-62427 Share on other sites

Yeah, lines kinda similar, but more rounded. Only that V12 engine with 6 carbs and DOHC - seems like a doubled Z-car's engine plus more. Would love to drive it once:classic: . December 31, 200321 yr comment_62430 I would love to drive it twice, maybe three times, maybe... That's all I can say 'cause I'll never get the chance. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9516-ferrari-approval/#findComment-62430 Share on other sites
December 31, 200321 yr comment_62431 The 365 Ferrari had always been one of my all time favorite Ferrari's. What's a real shame is that these cars were selling for 500K and up only a few years ago, with the convertibles hitting the 1 million dollar mark. Goes to show what happens when investors and speculators get into the collectible car market.... someone has lost a pile of money on these cars....:disappoin Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9516-ferrari-approval/#findComment-62431 Share on other sites

Interesting you should say that, I bought a English Classic Car Mag on the way back from my new years holiday to read on the plane and it's feature article was about the 240z styling being mistaken for bigger names. I'l take some pictures and post them Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9516-ferrari-approval/#findComment-62742 Share on other sites
January 4, 200421 yr comment_62749 I see it has a noticeable undercut on the front. That should give it plenty of lift on the highway..... j/kBTW, Odd-number Ferrari serial numbers were race cars. As far a I know.- read that on the Ferrari web site. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9516-ferrari-approval/#findComment-62749 Share on other sites

I wonder how is the steering then? Maybe you just drive on the rear wheels? :stupid: Les Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9516-ferrari-approval/#findComment-62750 Share on other sites
