Ain't she pretty? One of my boys got a nascar model for X-Mas and no glue. So I go to the craft store to get some glue for him and just for the hell of it I look over at the model cars, to see what they have in stock.

And I'll be damned if my red 1970 240Z is'nt staring me in the face. So I grab it off the shelf and look for a price tag, $10.00, Can you believe it????

I always here of the fairlady models ( w/ the mirrors on the fender and RHD) but I'd never seen a plain ol' 70' 240Z on ANY shelf, And I look, alot.

So today I feel Lucky, and I also got a Muscle Machines (1/64)th scale matchbox 240Z from my mom of all people. Gee, DO YA THINK THEY kNOW ME OR WHAT???

Heres the box....

I found a few at "Wally-World" too....

Put one together, and it's not the worst, but certainly not the best model I've ever put together... but then, it's been almost 30 years since I put on together so I wasn't expecting perfection either.....:stupid:

The worst thing I found in putting it together is the exhaust needs some modifications as it hangs too low and looks like crap, and the hodd hinges are almost impossible to get straight so the hood will open correctly... I ended up throwing them back in the box and just lying the hood in place.:ermm:

It also say not to glue the wheels in place, yet if you don't, they fall off easily....:stupid:

I'll post a pic later and you can see how mine turned out... think I'll leave the other one in the box unopened... who knows, in 10 years I might be able to sell it for a small profit when they are NLA....:devious:

I haven;t seent he second revell kit yet. The plain old 240. I bought three of the kits with the graphics. I finished two of and have one more to go. I agree with 2many on the fit of a few things.

I should take a pic of my ancient can of turtle wax with a green 240 on the can. I found it in my shed many many years ago and have held onto it.

Here how mine turned out... not the best pic but you get the idea..... Darn camera was acting weird today.. must be the warm weather....LOL

Sure wish Tamiya would do one in 1/12th scale or even 1/18th.. now that would be a model well worth building....Tamiya models always seemed to be some of the most finely detailed models on the market. And, in 1/12th it would be large enough to do some even more technical detailing.....

2many, Tamiya did make and I beleive still does make the 1/12 scale. Its the G nose RHD, however its still a nice kit. Mine has been unfinished for about a year now, however its almost there. Mostly finishing touches such as the glass and such. I would love a 1/12 scale NA model. I gurantee they are out there....someone has to have one :ermm:
