Mr Camouflage Posted January 5, 2004 Share #5 Posted January 5, 2004 The simpsons and malcome in the middle are good shows. Everybody hates raymond sucks. Guess you have to be married with childern to get that show.Theres a lot worse australian shows on tv, like neighbours and home and away, and all those stupid garden/home renovation shows. 1 Bravo 6 Posted January 6, 2004 Author Share #6 Posted January 6, 2004 kmack, the Wiggles are SUPPOSED to be for kids. At least they don't undermine parental authority as Malcom in the middle does by making the parents seem STOOPID and with an I.Q. of minus. Tell you what,-----you take back all the sit coms and we'll throw in Steve Urwin just to sweeten the pie. With all the reality T.V. shows you lot have, you could have a competition between Steve Urwin and Whacko Jacko to see which one could place his kid in the most danger. It's SURE to be a hit !!!. :stupid: :stupid: GEORGE !!!!!!!! Surely, you jest !!!! Such shows are an insult to inteligence. I reckon I'd get more entertainment from watching grass grow. AHHH, Yes, Mr. Camo, I agree with you up to a point. That being that there are far to many of those garden/ home reno shows. On the up side is the fact that they are EDUCATIONAL. Young blokes can learn such things as which end of the hammer comes in contact with the nail etc. etc. etc. so that when they ARE married with kids they can carry out such tasks rather than pay someone to do it, thereby saving money. :classic: :devious: :devious: Rick. That Ozzy Guy Posted January 6, 2004 Share #7 Posted January 6, 2004 Those shows aren't about inteligence for me. I like to wind down with them and that's about that I guess.I must say I feel sorry for Steve Urwin. First week of the year must be really slow for the news corps to throw this around. They need to get over it real quick.
tanny Posted January 6, 2004 Share #8 Posted January 6, 2004 Poor Irwin, he was just trying to demonstrate how evolution works to weed out the pea brains. Pea brains? Uh oh. Though I'm afraid I would much rather Irwin's genes stayed in the pool instead of Jackson's if I had to choose. As for TV shows, I prefer to sit back and relax and watch reruns of Pee Wee Herman. Quite stimulating! Victor.
BillD Posted January 6, 2004 Share #9 Posted January 6, 2004 Could someone explain the logic of having Speed Racer reruns on the Speed Channel. Isn't their 24-7 NASCAR coverage bad enough? :stupid:
kmack Posted January 6, 2004 Share #10 Posted January 6, 2004 Hey Rick, No offense meant, it's just the Wiggles aren't my cup-o-tea. Wouldn't have been even when I was a kid. They just don't seem to have much valuable content for children other than memorizing kid songs. (Just a parent's point of view) My all-time favorite kids show would have to be any of the old Warner Brothers cartoons, especially the roadrunner ones. As for some of them sit-coms on the tele today, I don't watch them. The only thing I like about Malcom in the Middle is the theme song. I sing that at work just to annoy people. It's also the ring on my cell phone!Other than movies, there are only four shows I watch on TV on a regular basis:WRC Rally coverage (Speed Channel)Monster Garage (Discovery Channel)American Chopper (Discovery Channel)Las Vegas (NBC)The latter being one that my wife has recently gotten me into. It's a 1 hour drama series that gets into the workings of a Hotel/Casino in Vegas but w/ a little bit of humor thrown into the mix. It's a good relief from all the darn doctor and lawyer shows.I'd love for all the sitcoms to go away. Most of the actors/actresses nowadays are over-paid cry-babies that think their backwards political views are more important than the freedoms most Americans hold dear. They think their $^!# doesn't stink. (Sorry that's a soap-box I don't want to step up to right now)The Networks need to start stressing more shows that have meaning or teach something. TLC and the History Channel are good ones that I think need to be included with public channels, not just as part of a cable package. Lots of good, informative and historically valuable programs. Which is sorely needed in this country. So yes, I agree with you that the sitcoms and all the reality shows need to be thrown in the trash. Especially that asinine Paris Hilton show which does nothing but make fun of good, honest, hard-working people and only make Paris look like a stupid bitch!:tapemouth
tanny Posted January 6, 2004 Share #11 Posted January 6, 2004 What's a Paris Hilton? She needs to get off the airways and give me her money.
kmack Posted January 6, 2004 Share #12 Posted January 6, 2004 What's a Paris Hilton? Trust me, you don't want to know about her. Just a stupid, arrogant, rich snob that has nothing better to do with her life.
