Nice shot Kmack ROFL

actually I'm lucky this thing isn't near me or I'd be taking it off your hands for sure. The hardest rust repair I see on that one is the hatch area to the right. That gaping hole is a challenge to patch together.

Honestly, I love all the rust buckets you guys are afraid to touch!!! I enjoy welding quite a bit so patching some rust spots is no bother to me. The one thing though that would steer me clear is when the inner fender wells go and the entire firewall/battery well area is completely disintigrated.

Maybe I should post my pics of what real rustbucket is :sleepy:

I was waiting to see how long it'd take you to find my comment. LOL

Btw, I had to patch that area of the hatch sill on my car, right side to be exact. Actually it was the structure of the car underneath the hatch sill plate that rusted out. A little tough to do, but not impossible. And the area under the battery on my car was "perforated" but not completely gone. Although it was bad enough that the frame rail directly under the battery had cracked! :surprised

I cut the battery area completely out of the 76 I am working on and grafted another in from a donor car. Theres pics in my gallery of the repair. Not bad, I still have the final grinding of the welds to take care of as well seal it all up and rustproof it.

The scary thing is that my live in GF has since moved out and I am in the house alone with no cap on how many Z cars I can have without getting the business from the woman.

I've got to get rid of one, before I obtain another . Currently I am down to three.

Early 74 260

76 280

78 280 2+2

However the motor, trans, harness, majority of interior, rear, some body stuff is being transferred to the 76 and then part out the rest. :(

the one thing keeping me from purchasing it though is that you are in TX and I'm in jersey. Theres some safety in mileage!

The irony of it all.....I replaced my battery area, portion of the firewall, and the upper unibody and lower frame rail (from the strut tower to the fire wall) from a '76! :cross-eye

I'll have to try and find the old section I removed from my car and send you a picture of it. You'd be so proud! It's in my back yard in the small junk pile folded up flat, the metal was that thin!:o

Ok, no takers on the whole car so I'm going to part it out. Name your part and your price and I'll let you know if it's available, what condition it's in, pix if possible, etc.

Are the hatch interior plastic panels still present? Is so, what shape are they in?

St.stephen,

Strut tower vinyl is not very good, driver's side has a rip and passenger side has a couple nicks. The trans tunnel vinyl is gone, the PO must have kept it. The stearing wheel is worn and needs restoration, it has one cut in it. See pix of all.

MikeW,

The hatch interior plastic is OLD, both the pieces around the 1/4 windows are cracked and probably not of any interest, the ones behind them seem to be ok, the one on the rear (tail light area) is missing as is the one on the hatch. See above for diamond vinyl description.

I did find some misc diamond vinyl pieces in the car, see pix.

Here's a link to pix of the parts you have asked about as well as parts that others have asked about: http://www.pape.ws/gallery/Parts_People_Has_Asked_About
