You'll have to use the bumper mounts that come off the 260 so the bumpers will bolt onto the mounts as they are different altogether from the mounting of the bumper/bumper supports on the early car. Also, the bumpers will stick out about 1 to 1 1/2 inches further from the body than the early bumpers, which means you will need the bumper fillers or it's gonna look kinda odd. Those bumper fillers are getting harder to find and more and more expensive to buy new.... January 13, 200421 yr comment_64109 I would like to put the smaller bumpers on my 77 280 2+2. I found a NOS 2+2 center but I only have some decent 240 coupe end pieces, but I think that they are not the right shape as the early 260 2+2 ends. Can anyone tell me the diffence between the coupe ends and the 2+2 ends? The 2+2 center bar is approx 1" longer than the coupe center bar.
