January 10, 200520 yr comment_108181 Hey Prox,I just found this..."you MUST use the special short-shank Nissan lug nuts and washers or you will RUIN your wheels. These can be purchased from your Nissan dealer (Nissan Part # 40224-R4670), and list for $7.65 each"...at this site http://kmhafer.datsun510.com/wheelFAQ.htm Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9719-opinions-wanted-iron-cross-style-wheels/?&page=4#findComment-108181 Share on other sites
January 10, 200520 yr Author comment_108187 $7.65 each!! What! That's insane!! I have to go find some OEM ones now! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9719-opinions-wanted-iron-cross-style-wheels/?&page=4#findComment-108187 Share on other sites
January 10, 200520 yr comment_108211 I never realized that they were different until this thread. I have some and here are the measurements (in inches) Dia .750 Lenght of shaft including washer .650 washer thickness .120 washer dia 1.180 OAL 1.625 this btw is for the acorn style. For reference one that I have from another after market wheel is: dia .685 ! length .590 washer .125 washer dia 1.090 OAL 1.6 So you can see there is quite a difference and using a "standard" aftermarket one could sure cause some problems! January 11, 200520 yr comment_108293 I didn't think you guys would have any problem finding them. Out here in California, or at least around my area, the are everywhere in the local self service junkyards. There on any ZX, 80-84 Maxima, Z31, etc. with factory aluminum wheels. If you want, I can go get some. They'd be much cheaper than anything you've posted here. Like maybe 10-15 bucks including postage. They usually just include them in the price when buy wheels or just throw them in when you buy other parts. I'd just have to wait for a break in the rain. January 11, 200520 yr comment_108327 Yeah, I've got my own theory as to why the yards around here don't have them...When a car comes in with nice wheels on it they yank them off and tend to drop the nuts on the ground, If you go to any of the yards around here you always see a bunch of lug nuts in the dirt... very common. This one fella told me that even if he did have them they would be between 40 and 50 bucks. Apparently they know what Nissan is getting for them.Nate Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9719-opinions-wanted-iron-cross-style-wheels/?&page=4#findComment-108327 Share on other sites
