January 16, 200421 yr comment_64544 $47K and the reserve is still not met! For a pick-up truck? I must be :stupid: ; or the rest of the pick-up purchasing public is.No way would I pay that kind of $$$ for ANY truck that I planned on using as a truck. I'd have a fit if it got a single scratch. Ever. For that kind of money I'd expect a high-class HOOKER (for a week!) and a case of 12 yr old Scotch to be part of the deal. It would take THAT kind of smile on my face to get my signature on the sales contract.Of course, if Santa was just going to drop one off at my house................:classic: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9749-ok-im-mad-now/#findComment-64544 Share on other sites
January 16, 200421 yr comment_64567 Be buggered if I'd pay that much for a Ute. :finger: If I had that much cash on hand I'd rather spend it on Precious. Although, come to think of it, She Who Must Be Obeyed might have plans of her own. Rick. January 16, 200421 yr comment_64576 Went to the local Chevy dealer last week because the S-10 was recalled due to a wiper motor flaw. While there I "Pushed the Button" but didn't win.....naturally. Anyway has anyone seen that new Chevy Truck, I think it's called the SST. It's in the new Chevy commercial which is actually pretty cool with all the cars running up on the Car Hauler. The one that they had on the lot was $55,000.00! For a truck!?!?. It's really a cross between a car and a truck, sort of a Cruck. January 16, 200421 yr comment_64577 I have seen one of those Dodges up close and my first impression was a steam locomotive, then fat and heavy. Most of these overdone trucks (like ricers) for men with little wankers:tapemouth Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9749-ok-im-mad-now/#findComment-64577 Share on other sites

January 16, 200421 yr Author comment_64618 What does the half-arsed "Hemi" have to do with a Viper motor and drivetrain in a pickup? People have been dropping well in excess of 30K on Ford Lighnings for years, and now all of a sudden, when Dodge finally gets off it's butt and puts out a truck that puts the Lighning and Chevy SS to shame, it's a POS? As far as the styling goes, I don't like it as well as the earlier Rams. And, in terms of price, well, the dealers are trying to get as much as possible by auctioning them off, since only 3K will be made this year, with no guarantee of a 2005 model. Same thing happened in 94 when the Viper first hit the showrooms, dealers were marking up the sticker by 10K or more due to its limited availability the first year......... No, it won't tow much more than a couple Jet-Ski's, but then, can half of the sports cars or sport bikes on the market today be used to their utmost potential on the road? I hope that you're not including SUVs in that statement. I have a 2000 4Runner Highlander 4x4(which is now called the Sport Edition since they took an SUV called the Highlanger to the market the following year, 2000 was the first year for the 'Sport Edition'). Any how, it pulls anything I have ever needed to from 21' I/O boats (on WET boat ramps) to 18' trailers with my 240Z parts car on it (complete car with drive train et all). My tires do not spin on the boat ramps, unlike people in full sized trucks/SUVs with larger engines, I don't have trouble pulling boats out like trucks do (no weight in the back end over the drive axle), and I do not fee like I'm lacking for passing power pulling a load either. All on the stock 3.4L engine. On the same topic, a V10? How big of an engine do you really need? We still have speed limits in the states...even though movies like "The Fast and The Furious" make it seem like we don't.
