Murph Posted January 22, 2004 Share #15 Posted January 22, 2004 Rick's from up north here.....we're quite used to 40+deg days with 100% humidity. He's gonna need to bring his termal underwear with him if it's under 30deg.
Rusty1 Posted January 22, 2004 Share #16 Posted January 22, 2004 March is about the hottest month of the year in Vic.It is a good time for travelling down South because the brats are all back at school so the campgrounds are all empty. Wilsons Promontory is worth a look it is an awsome piece of coastline with a well set up campground (if you like that sort of thing). The Phillip Island Grand Prix circuit has all sorts of racing on, check their web site for info (if you like that sort of thing).DO NOT GO TO SEE THE PENGUINS AT PHILLIP ISLAND, you will be dissapointed. If all else fails, I cook a pretty mean barbie, and our beer is better than yours..... Zedrally Posted January 22, 2004 Share #17 Posted January 22, 2004 Don't forget Targa Tasmania....27 April to 2 May.Incidentally, Yackandandah is soooo similar to a country town in Tas.NE Victoria in the higher country, Beechworth, etc is worth the visit. halz Posted January 23, 2004 Share #18 Posted January 23, 2004 Melbourne gets its fair share of high 30C days throughout summer... The advantage over Perth/QLD/etc is that you can be sure that there will be a cool change that will drop the temperatures by about 15C soon after. If going to Tasmania, pack a trout rod... and a fast motorbike for all those deserted twisty roads!
Rusty1 Posted January 26, 2004 Share #19 Posted January 26, 2004 If you are going to spend some time in Tasmania it might be a good idea to pack a banjo. You can always pick a Tasmanian in a crowd, he is the one wearing two hats, one for each head.....:stupid: :stupid:
1 Bravo 6 Posted January 27, 2004 Author Share #20 Posted January 27, 2004 ROFL Hey, Rusty 1, Do you mean to tell me that there are quite a few tasmanians down there ????????. Don't they all live in Victoria ??????????. I was under the impression that they only lived in Tassy on a roster basis so that there'd be a resident on duty at all times to turn the lights on and off. :stupid: Thanks for all the input fellas. Rick. :devious: :devious:
sjcurtis Posted January 28, 2004 Share #21 Posted January 28, 2004 NTH EASTERN VICTORIA Ovens valley, in thru Wang is, highly recommended if you are touring in a Zed the roads will invigerate under the correct operating regime, especialy up around Bright and Mount Beauty as you elevate up on to the northen side of the main range Via the OMEO Road, the scenery all around is spectacular at any time of the year. Zeds thrive under these conditions.YACKANDANDA, BEACHWORTH MYRTLEFORD and THE KYWA VALLEY HYDRO, and along list of snow peaks are a bonus.WARNING some roads do not suit show paint jobs and Town suspension. Some vehicle handling annomillies may appear on the secondary roads "apply more power and grab another good handfull opposite lock" My2cSteve:classic:
