Air Cleaner Orange?

I would say it's Red 110....Datsun Red 110.....and no, its not red, but Datsun's orange (like the Z in my avatar) is red110.

You can just pick up a spray paint can of red 110 from Jochem's Auto parts in Manitowoc, WI.....try to have him mix it thicker, he likes to make it thin....it was like $10 bucks total for a custom color (red 110 is the color of my 240).....

that's jochem's sight....highly recommended for Datsun touch up paint....although it's rather thin, so I just fill one of the testor's old thinner paint vials (for model airplanes, etc) full with this paint, let it sit, and sift the thinner that seperates on the top of the paint out, and this makes it much thicker....perfect touch up paint, and only $10 for a custom can(could be more now, this was like 3 years ago and I still have a bunch left).....

Are you sure? :ermm:

The car in that avatar looks like Dark Orange 022 or, at a pinch, Kalahari Tan 918. Red 110 is definitely a red colour and cannot be mistaken for the orange colour that is used to paint the air cleaner housing.

100% sure. Red 110 looks Orange totally. Exact match with the air cleaner.

I told them to mix me some red 110 paint, and it's an exact match, didn't even say it was 'orange'.....

Attached is red 110....believe or not i guess

LOL

I own one....i won't waste my time on this thread anymore...just trying to help with the air filter....my car is orange, original paint, and the code is clearly '110' under the hood (and also under the dash and everywhere else), and when i asked for nissan red 110 from a touch up paint place i got an exact match.

Wrong thing to discuss....

The car in Dogma420's avatar more closely resembles 022 Orange as shown in the Downloads > Technical Zcar Documents > 72 color chips, than 110 Red.

I had one in that color for many years.

EDIT: The new Avatar for Dogma420 IS the color of the 73 240 that I previously owned. 110 RED, Looks different in different light conditions.

110 red is one of those colours that can change depending on available light. For my Z to look like the AVTAR for dogma420 I would need exteeme bright sun light and a distance view. To look like the Z picture of mperdue I would think last light maybe ten minutes to sundown or the sun disappearing behind a huge storm cloud.

The truth is this colour can vary so much under changing light conditions and sun age damage that any slight mix rate variation would tip the scale away from the standard. I would say that both probably qualify as 110 red just oppisite ends of the mix spectrum.

my 2c

110red/beige 73

Exactly, my car is the same color as the avatar above.....you have to say it looks orange, and not 'red'.

I'm going to take some pictures this weekend, along with the paint code sticker under the hood, and some pictures of the fender with the air filter housing (so you can see they're the same color)....maybe that will stop this 'argument'....LOL

But it is 110, cause I told jochem's i need code 110, and he said 'i have the code for mixing that' and didn't even say it was orange in nature, and that's what i got.
