Hi Rob,

Welcome to the club. I´m fairly new the Z´s & I can assure that the guy in the club are a friendly & helpful bunch. I think all european spec Z´s had the breather from the valve cover plummed into the air filter box. It´s that way on my 76 260Z & on the set of 240Z SU type carbs I´ve just bought. I believe that the Euro spec Z´s had this bolt on after thought type indicator units to comply with the European traffic regulations. It appears that the USA type lamps were too low.

Your car is certainly a good looker. Hopw you enjoy your Z as much as I´m enjoying mine.

Where specifics of the European model is needed, Alan T. is a fountain of knowledge.

Regarding differences of models, I think you'll find there are differences in the Aussie models as well. Could be wrong though.

Word is it's Margaret Bukowski's old car. Last owner was in Oswestry though but he's now in Oz so the car was sold by a friend on his behalf. Apparently it used to have the plate 24OZ and appears on page 27 of 'the essential Z' book. Must get a copy of that!

Actually, my head was 'turned' some years ago by the Japanese-market models and I reckon I know a good deal more about the stuff we didn't actually get over here. Nevertheless, I'm willing to have a go:classic:

Ah, Rob - now I can remember your car. It used to live west of me - just on the edge of London. Used to be a lot of them around the west London area for some reason.

That "240Z" private number plate has probably been retained by somebody who's going to put it on something appropriate. Yours must be one of the DVLA's "Age Related" numbers? I've got one of them on one of my cars.

Watch out for mistakes in the "Essential" book. At one point he says that the original hubcaps were 'plastic':stupid:

Welcome from yet another Rob! I remember seeing your car in that book as well. Is the black paint original or was the car repainted? The wheels look like Wolfrace? With the Webasto sunroof opened to the warm and sunny English countryside

I usually get teased quite a bit for remembering specific cars in a given area over a given period of years by my friends. The joke is that "I haven't owned that one yet", and thus I must keep track of them as potential purchases.

I was looking at the wheels as well... they looked at first like just plain old aluminum slots till I looked a little closer...I like em....

I'd like to know who made them as well....

They remind me of the wheels on the mid-80's Corvettes with the way they don't have a squared off lip on the rim...

Yup the wheels are Wolfrace ones. They're pretty common over here, I guess because they were available with the correct offset. I think they suit the look of hte car well, could do with a bit of a polish though. Unfortunately they're probably going to have to go if I swap to large disks all around. I particularly like the look of the Arizona Z disks.
