Rick: You're a legend! I did need your listing in the end to work them all out. :)

HKSZ: Nope, not from either of those. Car is a manual.

Well, my busy day of rewiring all this mess has mostly paid off. Things that now work, that didn't before:

•Tail lights

•Map light (rebuilt with a good micro switch, still works as per normal though)

•Glove box light (needs a new bulb though)

•Stereo

•Stereo now has an antenna

•Romantic toe light

Also, replaced every single fuse and cleaned out a sh*t load of dodgy dodgy wiring.

Unfortunatly now I've lost my tail lights and dash lights, but that's been an ongoing problem (dodgy switch I'm pretty sure). I'll be posting a thread about that if I can't get it figured out tomorrow.

Here's a pic of the romantic toe light in action.....just for Rick. :devious:

Oh....and no it isn't actually that bright! That's an 8sec exposure. ;-)

Thanks mate,

I take it that all the instruments are lit. As I suggested before, could it be that the light is SUPPOSED to let the left foot see what the right foot is up to ????? Most more modern cars have courtesy lights.

By the way, does the clock on the dash work ?? Mine didn't, the auto electrician didn't want to know about it so I took it in to the local watch maker. Due to the fact that it is an OLD clock, he was able to fix it. Cost me $120 but worth it to keep the original part.

Rick.

Ahh....important thing I think I neglected to mention.....the romantic toe light has it's own switch (part of the same houseing). As is I have it wired in with the map light so it can be turned on and off at any time. Turning it on is awkward as you have to reach up behind the back edge of the glove box. Turning it off is a bigger drama as if your not careful it's very easy put your fingers on the bull instead of the switch. :finger:

Hmm....instruments being lit has been a big problem lately. I've just pulled the switch appart and fixed it, just waiting for the new "tit"* to cure. Tomorrow morning I'll put it all back together and all should be fine and dandy.

*See my thread HERE so you know what I'm on about, and my method of fixing it. Oh...and lots of pics. :)

My clock doesn't work either. Nor the ammeter. Good to know that it can likely be fixed.....might do that when I finish uni and have $120 to spare. For now my watch will do just fine. :)

Justin,

I have the original wiring diagram from the owners manual for my 74 260, if you still need it I can scan it and post it.

(That should be try to post it, I haven't had much luck to date)

Failing that send me a pm with your email address on it becuase my limited computer skills do extend that far.

It is 3 a.m., I will save my romantic toe light inspection for daylight.

ROFLLOL

Well, there ya go mate,

As the old saying goes, Ask and ye shall receive, seek and ye shall find. (Or sumpin like that).

Makes it a lot easier when the right questions are asked.

That just abouty completes your requests doesn't it ???? Except for the mood lighting that is.

:devious: :devious: :devious:

Rick.
