Been slack since Christmas and getting back form Japan.

Finally got my modified crossmember back on after having the grind back the control arm bush crush tubes to fit the washers that were welded behind the new holes, wasnt impressed with the engineering there.

Anyways, heres a look at the front suspension and brakes finally sitting on.

Thats good, now whats next?

Next is reco'ing the steering as per the steering discussion thread on these boards

Then and only then may we finally see the RB30DET where it belongs, its almost in sight now

I really like your brakes (front and rear), what are they off?

Was there much work involved in fitting them?

I am fitting a VQ30DET NEO into my s30 and need some better brakes and would be grateful for some info on yours.

RP975: Very cool conversion you're doing (VQ) on your zed.

I've also been looking into exactly the same swap for some time now. You have any photos or info on the swap on the net anywhere? I'd be really interested to see exactly how you've gone about the swap. One thing I'd heard is that the turbo setup will foul on the shock tower, just wondering if that's true? What gearbox have you used?

I'll be very interested to hear from you and I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions for you later.

There are some photos in my gallery, yes the turbo would foul the rails,

I will have to make new exhausts, plenum, x-member. I will post more photos when I get a chance.

At the moment I will use the CVT trans.

Thanks Robert. Just had a look at the pics.....I always knew the engine was compact, but not that compact! Is there any chance you would be able to measure the engine dimensions (minus turbo and plumbing etc) for me (if you don't already know them that is)? I'm curious as another swap I'm seriously considering is a VQ25DE into my little datsun sunny. While I'm at it, do you know the weight at all? I've had a lot of trouble finding reliable info on these motors so far.

The front are PBR VT commodore calipers on merc brembo slotted rotors, the rear are XF Falcon.

I can't take the credit for building them as I bought them already assembled from a friend who changed the direction of his project.

I picked up a 3.9 R200 clutch LSD from a DR31 in SA.

I havent checked it out yet, it is just sitting there as you can see.
