tholt29 Posted January 24, 2004 Author Share #25 Posted January 24, 2004 ... Totally unrelated to the graphics discussion, but I stuck a couple of newer videos on my site. When capturing the video I kept getting the occasional dropped frames, so forgive the occasional glitch... you get what you pay for around here http://sth2.com/Z-car/video.htm Tom
gundee Posted January 24, 2004 Share #26 Posted January 24, 2004 I prefer the black and red flames. Also something on the hood. I think just paint it black.
gramercyjam Posted January 26, 2004 Share #27 Posted January 26, 2004 Who you be representin'? TexaZ - and it goes with the license plate.
tholt29 Posted January 26, 2004 Author Share #28 Posted January 26, 2004 I can't do the Texas flag... Phil Adams did that to his MR2 when he was running FP in 2002/2003. He trashed his engine at the Fort Worth Divisional last year and has most likely retired the car for the foreseeable future, but the statute of limitations has not expired on his paint job. gramercyjam Posted January 26, 2004 Share #29 Posted January 26, 2004 Well then the striped arse, vitek, and red bolt ideas are looking good as is the BRE. The vitek and red bolt appeal to me more than some of the others because I think the graphics/stripes ideas that go over the front fender detract from the lines of the car. I think the Capt America theme would be more appealing if the stripe that goes in front of the fender to the air dam (lower cowl or whatever that part is called) curved the other way.If I ever get that far on my car I was thinking of painting it with a paintball gun.... z-ya Posted January 27, 2004 Share #30 Posted January 27, 2004 I like the BRE, TexaZ, an the rising sun. Here is a pick of the track car I've been working on. It's got the "20 footer" body work. Paint was applied by a pro. Not totally correct, but I think it came out pretty good. We are in the process of putting coil overs in it to correct the ride height. spudz Posted January 30, 2004 Share #31 Posted January 30, 2004 Hey Tom,I like either the red and black or the black and red flames . They would actually look good on my silver car as well. Are you planning on having vinyl graphics cut for your car ?Mike
tholt29 Posted January 30, 2004 Author Share #32 Posted January 30, 2004 Hi Mike, Yes, I'll be going the vinyl route. I have a friend with the equipment, so I can get it done for the cost of materials... I did have the thought of trying to make the center color patch on the flames static cling so that I can change it out whenever the mood struck. I would probably have to make the color not start until after the flare though. We'll see... The good thing about vinyl is it can be changed a lot easier than painted graphics (unless you leave it on the car for 9 years like my old numbers!)Tom
1975yellowBSPZ Posted January 30, 2004 Share #33 Posted January 30, 2004 How about a stylized BRE type of a deal, maybe red/blue or yellow black I'll look at it and see if I can do something better..
axelr8 Posted January 31, 2004 Share #34 Posted January 31, 2004 How about this simple design?
260DET Posted January 31, 2004 Share #35 Posted January 31, 2004 Basically the Black and Red Flames design, providing it follows the swoop line along the back guard.
tholt29 Posted February 2, 2004 Author Share #36 Posted February 2, 2004 Hey Axelr8, That's pretty cool looking! My first thought was "Hey another white Z with the same wheels as me! Oh wait! That is my car" The car is supposed to get shot this coming weekend, so I'll be making a decision soon... Tom
