Quarter window seals

Has anyone replaced the quarter window seals? My window was broken and replaced by an autoglass repairman a few years ago. He evidently didn't fit it completely into the body because the windows' front frame has eventually worked its way out to the point that I have a difficult time closing my drivers' door. So I'm looking at replacing the old and cracked rubber seals that seal the glass to the frame, hold the frame to the body, and installing the rubber piece that seals the front edge of the frame to the back edge of the door window frame.

If anyone would like to share their experience with this situation I'd appreciate it very much.

Thanks in advance! :classic:

I have a gap of about 3/16 inch between the door frame and the quarter window. Is that what yours is like (but filled with a rubber seal)? I should probably get a rubber seal to fill it. I think that's what was in there, right? It would keep the rain & wind out .

The gap you have sounds normal. You may just need the seal that attaches to the front of the quarter window frame to fill in the gap. Chloe has them for my '75z for about $35.00.

What's happening to mine is the front quarter window frame sticks out so far that even without the front seal there it's interfering with the back of the door's window frame to the point where I have to slam or push the door closed to shut it.

I replaced the weatherstrip on my quarter windows and found the reinstallation difficult to get it seated properly. Your symptoms sound like one or more of the tiny attachment bolts (2 top, 2 bottom) may have failed or were not pulled up evenly. Suggest you pull off the interior panels and examine these bolts and mating brackets. Take your time pulling the frame off the window.
