I remember Bob Lentz first GT2 car when it came to the shop.

Greg Masters was interested in going much faster (normal for greg) and had the knowledge to build a competitive car but I remember rules on newly made race cars at the time detailing that any new car had to have a solid rear axle.

I'm not sure if rules have changed since 1990 in that regard, though.

So.........greg bought an existing car with log book and re-engineered the entire car.........I mean the entire car.

I cut the roof of the car and removed the old cage and I remember breaking off more than a few tubes of the old roll cage with nothing more than pulling on them once one side was cut.

It is a sweet car as is anything Greg or Brian built and gleamed like a gem once the paint went on the caged shell.

Another reason manufacturers have been going away from straight sixes is engine length and it's affect on crash test safety.

At least that's what the lexus engineers told me at a class a few years back.
