I am currently on work experiance at MTU Detroit Deisel in West Aust. and the other day three of these engines came(via truck) in followed buy a huge crane! Im ot too sure on the specs of them but they are huge! Over 3000hp! i think 8000cc per cylinder!!! Twin turbo V20's i think! January 22, 200421 yr comment_65395 I'd have to guess they are marine diesels out of a pretty good sized ship...Most of the smaller engines Detroit made for commercial applications were usually either V-12 or V-16's if I remember right........ January 23, 200421 yr Author comment_65471 I'm not too sure what they are going into. They are brand new. I've only been there 1 week(work exp.) The big Aust. wide boss man came into the workshop today and gave us a free lunch and exlpained everything 'bout the company and those engines. I think he said they were going into boats(45m)!!!
