It looks like most of our members are balanced between ownership of the 1971 and 1972 Zcar. Have you voted on this survey yet? Please vote even if you don't own a Z. We are all watching this survey with great interest!

Things have changed! It now looks like '72 and '73 ownership is higher than anyone else. But, it looks like we've got a LOT of members that own cars between '71 and '73.

Could have sworn I posted here before, but just thought I'd give an update to the "What year do you own?"

New Z Project 1970 240Z Lucky 7s - HLS30 7273 7/70 build date.

My old Z (1971 240Z - 12/70 HLS30 17821) is now the parts car as it is just too rusty for me to restore, at least for now.

Five months and 10,000+ cars difference, amazing.

Drove 6 hours and nearly 300 miles from Oroville, Wash. to Port Orchard (near Tacoma, Wash.) to pick the car up. Borrowed a friends car trailer. Really heavy trailer, I'm sure it weighed more than the car itself. Over two mountain passes - Blewett and Snoqualmie - to get across the Cascades. My 1992 Chevy pickup did pretty well even though its 4.3 liter V6 has over 150K on it. Only had to drive slower than other traffic in a couple of spots. I was somewhat nervous having to cross the passes and drive on the freeway in Seattle where I was staying. But actually the scariest part was crossing the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, first unloaded, then with my new Z shell. It's black, but was originally yellow. Got it from NWZFan (Thanks Ken), he's got a great collection and he was headed out in his early yellow 71 when my pal and I were heading back to Seattle. Just makes me anxious to get my car running. The floorpans are pretty nice, just a dent and a tear (along the weld) that needs to be repaired, a hole under the battery and a few rust spots where the paint has chipped. Looks good underneath and the wheel wells, front fenders, rockers, rear hatch shelf and all the other places these cars typically rust are super clean. Interior is shot and the dash is more cracked than my other car, but I have the parts and seats etc. to fix all that. More photos, including honest rust/problem shots in my gallery: http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=5416My L28 The car has a stripped L24 with a sloppy feeling 4 speed. My F54 has been bored ,30 over and rebuilt w/ rebuilt P90 head and ceramic coated 6-1 headers and 4 bolt SUs ready to go in when the car is ready with new paint and interior. Will use the 5 speed from my other Z. The rust in my 71 had me thinking second thoughts on my ability to actually restore a car. This shell makes me feel I have leaped foward in realizing my dream to have a nice, drivable car.

1974.5 260 2+2. Completely redone, modified, inside-out top to bottom. Probably one of the only 4-seater Z cars around in this excellent of condition. I've owned the car since 1988 and it was a one owner rust free beauty then and still is now. Will post some pics as soon as I figure out how!:D
