Things have changed! It now looks like '72 and '73 ownership is higher than anyone else. But, it looks like we've got a LOT of members that own cars between '71 and '73.

i just brought home

73 HLS30-161063 today:D, a bit rough around the edges, but going to be my project.

As well, I bought 71 HLS30- 37248, sadly:( this car is very bent and will be a parts car.

I have had 72 HLS30-88909 sitting the back yard under a tarp for the past 20 years waiting for me to restore it.

Before that I owned 71 HLS30-34475, but it too was very bend so it was stripped and the body sent to the scrapyard.

Just purchased a '71 240z "Series 1".

Does anyone know how many '71 240z's were produced and how many '71 240z's Series one were produced?

Looks like 33,684 according to Z Car Home page; there's a link from the Wikipedia article S30. There's non-stop info on there.

Mine is a 78 280z and it got rear ended back in the mid 1980's and the previous owner fixed the damage but didn't like the way the paint orange peeled. I bought the thing for $1000 and after some work on the body and reassembly of the fenders, doors, windows, paint and a new air flow meter, a new clutch it is pretty much a new car. When I got it only had 37,000 miles on it It's over 1300 miles and I'm still trying to improve the gas mileage; but it runs great and it's fun to drive.

I sort of look at it like a life long project. Doug Longview WA

I just purchased 1976 but owned 8 others and thought 1972 was best all around stock.

Just bought a '72 240Z, w/ a 2.8 bottom end and 2.4 head, 4-spd. Mostly white and primer grey, and doesn't run at the moment.
