Datzun76 Posted January 26, 2004 Share #1 Posted January 26, 2004 Anyone else watch this show?http://dsc.discovery.com/fansites/monstergarage/monstergarage.htmlTonight they are going to turn a jet boat into a car.Watched an episode the other day where this guy turned his volkswagen bug into a mobile barbecue grill. Actually cooked barbecue chickens inside the car.He towed the bug on a motorcyle trying to deliver outdoor barbecue to a business location and the front axle broke. Injured the owner, camera man and destroyed a $50,000 tv camera.
Zrush Posted January 26, 2004 Share #2 Posted January 26, 2004 I liked the show that had the combination dragster/hotdog vendor. Funny as hell when they ran the car down the strip and the hotdog umbrella flew off. Also, when they stuck the hotdogs in the open headers and they flew out when he punched the gasROFL Too funny
v12horse Posted January 26, 2004 Share #3 Posted January 26, 2004 I think that Monster Garage is a great show, but I really love American Chopper. It is like monster garage, but more serious and the bikes that they build are spectacular. However, I watch both shows. Last night Southern chopper was on discovery and I was not impressed. Did anyone see American Hot Rod? I wonder how that show is. Cheers,Ben:classic:
Zrush Posted January 26, 2004 Share #4 Posted January 26, 2004 I've heard that American Hot Rod is good. But we see those types of cars all over Florida at the shows. That Southern Chopper show, was that guy from Tampa? One of the Hot Rod big shots down here is now into the "West Coast Chopper" type bikes. I guess that's the new scene. His shop, if I'm not mistaken is called Southside Choppers. Nice bikes but I think I'll stick to having 4 wheels on the pavement (sometimes):cheeky:
v12horse Posted January 26, 2004 Share #5 Posted January 26, 2004 Me too, 4 wheels is better than two.
St.stephen Posted January 26, 2004 Share #6 Posted January 26, 2004 these are my annual monday must see tv. I call it mullet monday's if you will. I love watching all of these types of shows. Its about time to give kids dreams of being able to do this. When I was a teenager in highschool we garage monkeys were all frowned upon cause these kinds of professions weren't "college prep" or business related. This may save many mechanical/industrial arts programs in our schools and thats important.
hmsports Posted January 26, 2004 Share #7 Posted January 26, 2004 The Learning ChannelBig MiniatureTue, Jan. 27, 2004 9 p.m. and midnight ET/PT Jay Leno will be with us when it's unveiled. It will happen on the celebrity-packed 35th anniversary of a little car named Hot Wheels. The celebration will feature the showing of this car; a car that we've watched in the making: a full-size version of the best-selling Deora, a Hot Wheels collectable that will be big and drivable at this wild and colorful festival. But the Deora won't be the lone special guest at this unique bash. West Coast Customs, the leader in car customizing for the hip-hop world, will also take a miniature favorite and make it full scale for the birthday — their custom Escalade will be a color-matched sister car to the Deora, a new and radical design that will stand in stunning contrast to that other grown Hot Wheels car at the party. But before the party, we'll watch these vehicles being made, seeing what it takes to scale up from tiny to full size, to drivable and powerful. In the case of the uniquely shaped Deora, we'll see what kind of luxury car has been chopped up, rearranged and retooled so that it could provide the basis for this giant version of a pop culture classic. Or the results of WAY too much chemical activity.Cool wooden leg though!
Zrush Posted January 27, 2004 Share #11 Posted January 27, 2004 Was that a real wooden leg? I thought it was a tatoo. Honestly, I didn't want to look to hard at it, as I was having dinner at the time.
GunnerRob Posted January 27, 2004 Share #12 Posted January 27, 2004 It Looked real to me!BTW, I thought it was pretty cool how Jessie insisted on having a second seat installed right next to his for his "Number One Fan" Tyler and the tribute to Tyler at the end of the segment. Brought tears to my eyes (Tyler was about the same age as my son).
