They're more than likely off a 280ZX

NAPS stands for Nissan AntiPollution System.

Or something along those lines at least, my brother's '79 280ZX used to have them (them as in the badges) as did an '81 280ZX that was at the wreckers.

I have a 280Z intake here that says NAPS-Z on it. Never seen another one anywhere... :ermm:

The only thing in the US that had the NAPS-Z name associated with it was the Z20E/Z22E 4 cylinders from the 80-83 200SX.

  • 4 weeks later...

Here in the US, a NAPS-Z engine was a FOUR cylinder. It was SOHC, crossflow, with two spark plugs per cylinder. It was sort of a smog modification of the L series four cylinder. It was in the 80-82 510 (A10), the 80-83 200SX, and the 80-83 pickups. As I recall it came as a Z20, Z22, and Z24. I remember seeing a Z18 at one of the engine importers.
