gator Posted January 27, 2004 Share #1 Posted January 27, 2004 I just bought a 76 280 that needs injectors (apperently) I will find out when I get it home. Anyone have suggestions about what to do with this thing. It was suggested that I should just find a set of SU's and forget about the FI system. Any suggestions here would be great. Thanks guys .. hope to see some of you on the road ..hehe getting abit ahead of myself .. I may just part it out tooThanks ..Bruce
datsunfreak Posted January 28, 2004 Share #2 Posted January 28, 2004 Ditching the EFI would be a very bad idea. It is alot more reliable and dependable. You really lose no power with it either. FYI, the SU's were made for a 2.4L, not a 2.8L, and they were too small for that.FYI, You can usually buy rebuilt injectors for around $40 USD each. datsunfreak Posted January 29, 2004 Share #4 Posted January 29, 2004 If you trust the seller that can be a good way to get some cheap.Buying them from the JY, I've usually had to buy 2-3 sets to get 6 that don't leak.

ScottyG Posted February 9, 2004 Share #6 Posted February 9, 2004 Would it do me any good to swap out my 76' 280 stock injectors with a later model 280zx turbo injectors. Would this screw up my air fuel mixture? Too much fuel?
datsunfreak Posted February 9, 2004 Share #7 Posted February 9, 2004 With the stock AFM settings, yes it would be WAY too rich. IMHO, the turbo injectors are only necessary if you have a turbo. The stock injectors seem to flow enough fuel for even a lightly modified non-turbo. HTH
