Know what you mean.. mine is my daily transport also, so it's very hard to work on. Weekend projects only!!That's why none of my stuff has gone on yet. Well that's my excuse. The real reason is I don't want to see the bill I'm going to have to pay the bodywork guy!!! May 26, 200420 yr comment_82774 Never thought of using my 240K as a daily driver1st not really fuel friendly compare to a smaller carI'm also thinking of unregistering the car for the time being its just that its a hassle if the car is unregistered when you wanna do some work outside like interior retrimming, body and etc. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9933-c110240k-coupe-over-fenders/?&page=5#findComment-82774 Share on other sites
May 26, 200420 yr Author comment_82778 Keep it registered!!!!!!!!!!!!!Trust me, when it comes time to re-registering the vehicle and passing it through the relevant safety checks ie Road Worthy the hassles can be huge. Some testers will fuss over the most irrelevant things regarding the vehicles safety and just aren't worth the hassles.Play it safe, have the car checked over by yourself or mechanic and upgrade items on a needs only basis eg suspension items, brakes, tyres etc. I re-registered what my father and I believed was a pretty sound car a few years back, but ran into a mechanic who picked up on the radiator (why was an auto radiator used for manual car??), window rubbers, and cracked dash (even covered by dash mat!).Went to another guy and he just handed over the RWC no problems. May 26, 200420 yr comment_82867 Thanks for the advice James, though re-registering the car is not a problem as I know this mechanic, they're like my friend I even get free service from them! When i took the 240K before to get RWC they wanna buy the car and giving me very good offer but obviously I refused.Regarding R28 thats the model they call "Mini Mustang" as the shape of the rear half of the car is similar to mustang fastback, also the tail lights.we've got the 240K that has a similar shape to that anyway so I'm leaning towards the smaller versions of celica.
