halz Posted January 30, 2004 Share #5 Posted January 30, 2004 Funny story: As part of the "Domestic Approval Process" before buying the 240, I took my wife along to the W.A.Z day last August. It was the first time she had seen a Zed close up and she liked them. (yay, things looking ok for a new Zed)...Then she turned around and saw the roadsters...she really liked those Apparently I would have no problem getting a roadster at any time in the future...<sigh!>
sblake01 Posted January 30, 2004 Share #6 Posted January 30, 2004 I owned a 1970 Datsun 1600 roadster for about 20 years. (1977-1997) I had the U20 (200cc) crank, rods, and pistons in it. You can do this to the later 5 main bearing R16 engine. I also had a set of the larger U20 SU's on it and a rather wild camshaft that was available back then (70's) from Datsun Competition (now Nissan Motorsports). The engine was balanced and blueprinted, the head was ported and polished, etc. I also had the 5 spd from a 2000 roadster. I believe that was the FSC571A trans. It was a lot of fun and I really miss it but I am happy with my Z. The roadster was a tinkertoy. Like I said it was fun but I spent a lot of time working on it.
