hls30.com Member September 10, 200420 yr comment_6988 Share this post Carl-parts fom it fit a coupe, wait-at least it had a hood! With the '82 turbo engine running on '76 electronics and the stock '76 automatic, I outran everyting but Grand Nationals in college-Mustang GTs would hide, Conquest Turbos trembled in fear, -other Zs were proud to be related, and told me so when I stopped and they caught up! Most people were amazed when they looked under the hood and found what looked like a stock engine (I got rid of the turbo valve cover) in a factory install, and an automatic. I had a great Mechanic, this was who I have been learning from ever since. I still have the wheels-15x7 American Racing Stingrays-I bought them a Western Auto for that car. They may make it on to the '72 if I can't turn down the slot mags to stuff them over the vented 4pot upgrade. Gav240z Member September 10, 200420 yr comment_6993 Share this post haha I had a 2+2 there ok but not the same magic by any stretch of the imagination if you ask me. A turbo one would be nice and fast. Fond memories of old cars? I certainly do have them even if it gave me grief so what happened did you sell it? FWIW i wouldn't use the toyota 4Spot calipers I bought a set and found out how heavy they are. Dreadfull stuff I'm going with Z32 brakes now so much lighter even if you have to make custom brackets to fit them it's worth it in my book. hls30.com Member September 10, 200420 yr comment_6996 Share this post Gavin, I sold the car to another "enthusiast" at a great deal $800 becuase I thought it was going to be taken care of, he trashed it and in two years it was off the street. I tried to buy it back but he wanted $3000 for it-nothing had been done to it except he put ZX wheels on it and drove it into the ground. Talk about a bite in the arse! My '72 is getting a turbo in similar fashon(2400 valve cover and hide the heat camoflage) so an extra several pounds will not be an issue.
