Front 3/4 view of my first Z Car after coming out of the body shop. I put a lot into this car. Triple Weber's, header, Koni's, Panasports, show quality paint and lots and lots of new sheet metal, LOL!

Yep that is an old picture from around 1982. I finally got a scanner so I could upload the pictures. I owned the car from 1980 - 1987. It was a real screamer.

What happened to her is a bit of a painful story.

I was driving north on Rte 53, just outside of Bolingbrook, IL. I gave it a healthy dose on the go peddle. When I left off the peddle, it kept accellerating all on its own! I hit 65 MPH and its was still accellerating. This was still somewhat of a residential area, so I could not keep going faster. I reached down and shut off the engine. By the time I coasted to the side, there were flames coming out from under the hood. I jumped out and tried to put the fire out. Other drivers stopped to help. I emptied 3 fire extinguishers on it, but it was like peeing on a forest fire. The fire got so intense that it shut down that 2 lane road for an hour. Nobody would pass the car. The fire dept. eventually put out the fire, but it was too late to salvage anything. It ruined everything forward from about the middle of the doors and a lot of the interior. The only thing keeping me from really getting depressed, was that I didn't get hurt.

I figured out that the middle Weber carb stuck wide open and spilled gas on the headers. That's why I would never have those on my car again!

After that I went 11 years without a Z. As you know, Z Fever cannot be cured. It came back with a vengence, and now I own 2 240 Z's!!! And I am loving every minute of it, LOL!!!
