HS30-H Free Member February 15, 200718 yr comment_13039 Share this post Kats, Some interesting non-factory variation on this engine (?): S20 factory block paint colour was silver, and engine mounts were painted gloss black with no plating or primer underneath. Three block coolant drain plugs on exhaust side were originally zinc or cadmium plated with gold-passivated finish. Water-pump to head gallery casting hose was typical fabric-covered rubber with wire-type hose clamps. kats Free Member February 16, 200718 yr comment_13051 Share this post Thank you daddz and Alan. Yes this color finish is not original.Moroe- san has a strong polcy for this black paint. It is dualable so much he said. And plated engine mounts, not only these Moroe-san love to aplpy plating because it is dualable too.Good for preventing rust. I wish this water side hose become braided,Moroe-san has huse collection of early parts so I think he does. Alan,is your mail adress good ? I wanted to send P.M. for you about Z and lots of things. kats Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/gallery/image/20827-z432/#findComment-13051 Share on other sites
carrott Free Member March 15, 200718 yr comment_13101 Share this post who cares what colour it is, it's his choice and by the way it was a mass produced car not some rare, low volume production exotic. HS30-H Free Member March 16, 200718 yr comment_13106 Share this post carrott, Do you actually know what you are looking at? At less than 500 made, yes I would call the Fairlady Z432 a "rare, low volume production exotic" actually. It certainly qualifies as such in comparison to most other S30-series Z models. Victor Laury Free Member March 16, 200718 yr comment_13112 Share this post Alan, any clue to the total production of the S20 motor? i would think it was quite low as well. HS30-H Free Member March 17, 200718 yr comment_13121 Share this post Victor, Rounding it up a little, there would be less than 2,600 engines that were fitted to PGC10, KPGC10, KPGC110, PS30 and PS30-SB sold to the general public. Add a few on for complete crate engines sold as 'spare parts' and then the factory race and development engines, and it looks very unlikely that more than 3,000 were ever made. Hope that helps.
