1936 Datsun! Share https://www.classiczcars.com/gallery/image/21929-1936-datsun/
 Followers This car was at the ZCCIV car show I attended yesterday (5/27/07) in Temecula, Ca.
sblake01 Member May 28, 200717 yr comment_13218 Share this post Actually a Datsun Model 15 Phaeton, IIRC. I've seen them in publications and on the internet but this is the first time I've ever seen one is person. It runs and is virtually complete and owned by a older gentleman that lives in SoCal. Victor Laury Member May 29, 200717 yr comment_13219 Share this post Oh, now I wish I went. Did you get any contact info from this guy? This really needs to get to the JCCS! Were the Yamaguchi's there? I hope Terry got to talk to him. deadflo Member May 29, 200717 yr comment_13220 Share this post Many of us have seen that brochure written in English from the mid 30's with this car in it. I wonder if any such cars were actually sold here? Also, were these called Datsuns in Japan at the time? Was the Nissan name being used then for the homeland vehicles? sblake01 Member May 29, 200717 yr comment_13221 Share this post The emblems said Datsun but I'm sure they weren't sold here. It's RHD. All the tags, instructions, etc. on it were in Japanese. Terry and Koji were both there and took lots of pics and spent some time talking to him. 26th-Z Member May 29, 200717 yr comment_13222 Share this post I would love to see more pictures. I have a Nissan poster that indicates the model year of 1933, but who's counting? Great car! It was a Datsun back then, not Nissan. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/gallery/image/21929-1936-datsun/#findComment-13222 Share on other sites

sblake01 Member May 30, 200717 yr comment_13228 Share this post I'm sure they will be some pictures on Katy's nest when Terry and Koji update their site. They still haven't added the Toyofest pictures yet either. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/gallery/image/21929-1936-datsun/#findComment-13228 Share on other sites
