vltwincam Member April 3, 200321 yr comment_1147 Share this post hi there, i have a vl commodore with an rb30e, i only got it because nissan make great engines. anyways, i am very interested in a twin cam head conversion, as you have done. i have came across an rb25det head, can i use this, even though it is from a turbo? how much did your conversion cost, being the head, labour and gaskets etc, ? i am very keen to do this conversion, but i have a moderate budget. would i need a new computer and efi system? sorry about so many questions, i have been trying to contact someone about this for 6 months but to no avail.. your help is much appreciated, luke l ulemunro969@hotmail.com Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/gallery/image/2252-rb30de/#findComment-1147 Share on other sites

RB30-ZED Member April 9, 200321 yr comment_1237 Share this post Hi Luke As far as ive seen the RB25 turbo and non turbo heads are te same, they just changed pistons to change the compression ratio, but injectors and manifolds are different. Im a mechanic so i did it all my self, but the head all the parts gaskets ect cost around $600. I used a new engine managment system, but i think in Zoom mag they did one and used the RB25 computer and ignition module, with the old wirring harness. Good luck. http://home.iprimus.com.au/cobra30/twincam.htm http://www.r31skylineclub.com/content/techinfo/twincam_conversion.pdf Sorry your email didnt work Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/gallery/image/2252-rb30de/#findComment-1237 Share on other sites
