What engine is that???? and y is it in a 350z?

I believe it's a 240 SX

This car is a GT 3 and I think the tube frame is most likely originally designed for 240 SX body.

that would be a ka24-e. the sohc motor. from a 240sx.

Yup.... it is a KA24E . GT 3 cars are not allowed to use the twin cam motor . Thats Mac Russell with his 350Z body on his car. I talked to him last Summer in Spokane and he thought the 240Sx body was a little better on high speed courses .
