Sammy1970 Member July 31, 200321 yr comment_2313 Share this post Very nice mate! Playing with the idea of an V8 swap in my 240Z 1970. How does yours handle on the road. What mods did you need to do and how much? Sam (Adelaide) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/gallery/image/3819-350-chev/#findComment-2313 Share on other sites
That Ozzy Guy Member July 31, 200321 yr comment_2314 Share this post Thanks Sam. Car handles very well after alot of work spent on it by the previous owner (2 owners ago). As far as getting an 8 in a 240, there's not that much custom work involved (less than most other cars because of the big engine bay for such a small car). Check with your road authority to see if it's legal to put an 8 in your 240 because here in NSW I was not allowed to do it so I bought one that was engineered pre-94 when they changed the laws here. If you have any questions I might be able to help you so email me but the guys on this forum and on hybridz know way more than I do. crudsta@hotmail.com George Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/gallery/image/3819-350-chev/#findComment-2314 Share on other sites

zedhead Member August 5, 200321 yr comment_2358 Share this post what year chev is that? where the jtr mounts used? what kind off figures is it putting out? finaly is that rule on instaling an 8 into a 240z applicable in victoria?.. sorry for the questions its just that the majority of z8 you read about are located in the US. truly your car is a great aussy example. That Ozzy Guy Member August 5, 200321 yr comment_2359 Share this post Thanks. I'm trying to track down the year of the chev through the engine number but I haven't found the book that references Chevrolet ID numbers. No JTR mounts were used, it's all custom. I'm not sure if the JTR stuff will work as we've got the steering on the opposite side but with minimum mods it should be ok. I've got an idea of the power it should put down but I don't want to quote it until I see dyno sheets myself. I've only owned the car for a short while and didn't build it myself unfortunately. Not too sure about the VIC rules but you can find out on the VIC roads website I'd say.
