Cleaned, stripped and painted waiting for a body

Beautiful! What kind of paint is that? Looks much more uniform than mine (which was brushed).

How did you come to decide to paint the differential blue? Do you have knowledge of what color they were originally?

Sweet shot, Alan. But how are those shelves supporting all that weight?

mperdue, the paint is White Knight Rust Guard, machinery grey. I chose this colour because it is very easy to pick up any leaksagainst the grey rather than the standard black. I have used this paint before on other cars and it works well.

26th-Z, The original colur is black, the same paint as the rest of the suspension components and underside. I used blue engine enamel so it would stay on and match the drive line (engine and gearbox ).

Seppi72, The shed was built by myself for the reason of holding all my finished pieces. I'm a cabinetmaker by trade so I made sure they would hold a lot of weight.

So did you paint your transmission the blue colour as well? Just curious because I have mine out right now and was thinking of doing something like that. As well is that the original Nissan colour for the engine block? It looks a little dark in the photo.

CCC77, no I didn't paint the whole transmission only the steel section between the bell housing and case. The rest I cleaned up, looks like the cover plate on the diff.

So Alan, when will it be ready? Please keep your photos updated, as the car looks like it'll be a real nice one!

The detailing already looks great for your components.

What plans for your engine?

Hi Mike, probably another couple of years yet before i'm finished completely. I'll have to take more photos and put them up when I get time. As for the engine i'm still not sure, but as i,m doing that last i,ll have to see how the budgets going when I get there.

How I would love to be at this stage. Just looking at the parts on the shelves...spotless and ready to go back together, just like a big Tamiya kit! Please keep us up tp date on any progress Alan.
