They sure look well made I am curious however if these work better in this design or was it the nostalgic race history of BRE that inspired them as oppose to having them flow tested and being optimal in this design. ???

I am building a replica of the BRE #46 car, so accuracy is the key. However, I also have it on good authority that they flow very well too.

Ron, don't even want to think about how much time you've got into these!

I noticed that there isn't a full piece flange. Did that make it easier or harder to match the pipes to the ports?

Really you should try to sleep at night instead of dreaming up new stuff for your car! (just jokin)

Sleep, is hightly overrated...The ports are indexed to the head. The bends we VERY complex and clearing the steering linkage was tricky. Since this was a direct copy of the original BRE header we didn't even consider a one piece flange...

Ron, have you ever seen the book "Chasing the Stainless Steel Carrot" by Sylvia Wilkinson? It's all about John Morton, Datsun's, and how BRE enticed J.M. to drive the Z's and 2.5 liter 510's in Trans-Am with the promise of a Lotus Formula 5000 ride. Good book, lots of photos.

Hey Panchovisa, I do have a copy pf "the stainless steel carrot" signed by John and Sylvia. John & Sylvia live about an hour and a half north of where I live and I have gone up to meet with John on a few occasions. He has been really helpful with my project, giving me some insight to the original car and some of the little things that no one would know about.

Remember back then John didn't just drive the car, he had a hand in building it too...

I spoke to Sylvia & Pete Brock yesterday as I am trying to lock down the correct collors for the BRE Z.

The bodywork is about 50% done and I will be heading off to the paint shop in a few weeks...
