Any problem with over heating?

It is just sitting there to see what look it gives...not attached. I would be concerned about the airflow though!

You might want to use a light weight expanded metal. Home Depot has a fine mesh expanded product that is used in plaster repair that can be painted. Or Discount has a polished version, cost more and may not let the bumper be a visible as darker back ground would.
