HS30-H, the photo angle is a little deceiving. What leads you to say it's not an R-200? The side plates? The rear cover?

I've got two R-180's and they are smaller, lighter, and have totally different side plates and rear covers.

What is your opinon, R-190?

Sure looks like the R-190 I am putting in my car...just prettier (at the moment). Your gears are probably 4.44's too BTW. Looks great!! very nice work!!

The R200 doesn't look anything like that, and in fact doesn't have side plates at all.......

Yes, like Ron I think its an R190 ( they always called them "R192" in Japan ) which came as stock equipment on the PGC10 and KPGC10 Skyline GT-R's and the PS30 Fairlady Z432 and PS30-SB Fairlady Z432-R.

You could also buy them through Datsun Competition in the USA as a stronger alternative to the R180, so if yours originated in the USA then there would be a very good chance it was originally supplied by Datsun Competition.

If it came from Japan as a used item, then there would be a very high possibility - as Ron has mentioned - that it would be a 4.44 ( that's what the GT-R and Z432 had fitted as stock ) so be careful it doesn't screw up your top speed calculations.........

Looks very nice!

Thanks guys, I just assumed that because it was bigger than the R-180's that it had to be a R-200.

It did come from the Datsun Competition parts buffet back in the day.

Ron your right, it is a 4.44 (I spent the time turning and counting, but since 4.375 was the closest published stock ratio I just figured I counted wrong.

Actually I'm kind of glad it's not an R-200, because it handled 330 HP in anger before during it's race days and who needs to carry more weight than is needed.

HS, is this the rear end your putting in your Z432-R? Is that why you knew what it was (but wouldn't tell until asked!!!!!)
