I agree with you Pmg. There are other sites that bash people for asking simple questions. There are very knowledgeable people on this site. They have helped me as well. I have seen feathers getting ruffled once and while but not too often. Its hard to put into words what you want to say sometimes especially typing it in a forum. You only hope that someone understands what you are trying to say, like now, . Great group of people here!

Pardon my interruption: I've been lurking around here for some time trying to learn what I can for my 280z. I just wanted to say that there are some really good people on this forum; it's a real community. The way you help each other is inspiring and I just wanted to say thanks. I truly appreciate all of the "tough love" and today proved that there is a craps ton more rust than I thought, but I honestly think that I can do this! You see, it's not about owning a gorgeous ready to drive 240Z; for me it's all about taking each challenge and task and learning how to solve it and fix it. I want to learn! Will I have a show worthy, prestine car? No way! But will I have a safe, road-ready sports car that I am beyond proud of? Heck yes!!! This is what I love and I am determined to see it through! This is something that will allow me to learn and spend more quality time with my grandparents, while they are still around. That... means more to me than ANY end product! Update to come, as I had a very successful day!!

I think that would be really bad. I've had a couple close calls from people driving alongside me, with the driver looking at the car, and drifting into my lane! Similarly, if you had something like a bumper sticker that was hard to read unless you were very close- you know what would happen if you had to suddenly brake... But I see your point- to have a warning device that is unmistakable. You want them to be aware there is a vehicle in front of them, but not to be obsessed so they stop paying attention to safe driving........

Does anyone know if 3D printing has come far enough yet that this piece could be 3D laser scanned and then let the software flatten it into a pattern. I would hate to wreck it.

Tim is planning on taking it back to stock, too.

You did the right thing. Red bird, the 240, will live on instead of wasting away and your the coolest chick in town, sporting around in a 280Z. Life is good!
