  1. Heres a pic of it after a quick buff. Not looking too bad

Also the plastic panel around the quarter window should be removed as well as what @Dave WM said. As it overlaps the panel you are installing. Assuming this is on a 240Z, at least you only have this issue with the strut on the LH side.

When you say the strut bracket is welded in are you talking about the larger bracket that the strut pivots in at the top end. That bracket is bolted to the smaller bracket that is welded to the body. Here is a picture showing the nut you need to disassemble so you can remove the larger strut bracket to get more clearance for installing the new plastic panels. Unless of course yours is actually welded.
  4. And hopefully a spotter too. Be safe.
  5. After carrying the front and rear bumper off and away from my car, I realized just how much they weigh! I quickly discarded both as I much prefer the 240 style bumper anyways... However, once the car is off the rotisserie, I will have a front and rear set of bumper shocks if anyone else is looking for a set to do this same mod. Free to a good home for cost of shipping!
  6. Moved the metal shelves to my parts shed......hung wall cabinets to give myself more floor space.
  7. Z still leading, our club member Dave Gainer in another S30 has moved up to fifth, go the Aussies.
  8. Here's the deal. I got there early and spent an hour or so checking connections and cleaning a few grounds, I have to say almost zero corrossion anywhere in the engine compartment. He showed up and checked the temp sensor, it's the #13 pin in the 75. The reading was 1.8 at around 80 degrees f, so pretty close. next we adjust the tps and retry the testing in the 3 and 18 pin. Still not getting the proper reading. I then brought to his attention you can adjust inside of tps, bingo! The 3 little copper arms that are sticking down were not touching at the right times. My mechanic did not know the tps was adjustable inside but after letting him know that he new exactly how it worked and said it was super simple. He actually had to bend the middle copper lead so that it touched the others at the right times. It seemed to be slightly hesitant still, but.... the backfireing seemed to stop. Along the way he adjusted the timing and after a test drive he checked the timing and it was 13. Hopefully cold start in the morning is positive.
  9. Site, you are so silly... but ok.
