The GZC will probably have a convoy up to Nashville for Z Attack, and you guys will be welcome to join it.

Sorry that it's too far for a bunch of you guys, and jfa, I'm so sorry to hear that you were planning to attend, but have been sidelined by problems. zKars, you misunderstood the Jim... S30Driver (Jim) was saying that he and Zup (Jim) would probably be at the ZAttack in Nashville, not this upcoming Zcon. So, now that jfa had to bow out, none of the three (S30Driver, Zup, or jfa) are going to be in Toronto. But you'll have me!!

The car has already run on Copart in a sealed bid. I saw it the other day. Hagerty evidently used that to help establish value. I don't know if they pad those numbers or not. I also don't know if it will run again or whether they will offer it to the highest sealed bid. With the car having a reasonably high fair market value I would expect it to bring 30-40% of that so if the car is a $25k car then $6-8k is possible. It will probably bring $4,500 some one will take a shot at fixing it, I would...

@siteunseen I will definitely plan on it! Barring some cat-arse-trophy, I'll have time to get my car sorted out and road-worthy.There are lots of interesting alternate routes from my house to Nashville. One year, on the way to "The Derby", it took me and my brother-in-law 8 hours to make the 90 mile drive ... but we were a whole lot younger and a whole lot more reckless then!

Nashville is very doable for me! Steve and Cliff plus anyone else, we got us a Convoy!

Brought out the speedo and tach to do the same work I did on the center instruments: clean-up, polish lenses, paint needles fluo orange to match. Will reinstall tomorrow.

Here's the best terrible photo I could come up with. What I actually did was bend the bracket left at the blue line, then bend the front of the bracket inwards to compensate. I think that if there were a roughly 6mm washer at the red circle area, or possibly both front and back bolt holes it would bolt straight up. I am also using a different set of bumpers than you and while my car looks straight it's entirely possible that it's less than perfect. I would say these brackets fit with a slight disclaimer indicating that some fitting will be required. I'll be working on the rear bumpers next and I think I have them figured out.

Wow, I didn't catch that. A Freudian slip if I ever saw one but I remain steadfast. I have most of a 71 parts car that I have to find a place for first. I think I see a lean-to addition on the back of the shed in the near future. BTW, Kathy did agree I could paint automotive logos on it. Datsun, Mazda for sure, and a few British and Italian ones too. I'm halfway there.

I appreciate the heads up but another engine isn't not on my list. I have three. Oh the temptation tho. I just moved a nice 10' x 12' x 11' high, gambrel roof Tuff Shed with a loft onto my property from my neighbors. The first thing Kathy says is "Now, I don't want this used as a catch all for your car parts." She knows me all too well. We'll see how that idea turns out though. There's plenty of room in the loft for 401Z investment sheet metal.

Similar...yes, at least some of the body work is done. How well would still need to be seen in person. The engine could easily be replaced with a stock L24, if so desired for a reasonable cost. if one was looking for a more stock car, his mods sound decent if that is what your after. Although not numbers matched of course. a lot of the "mods" could be put back as all these stock parts seem to be readily available from the guys that do mod their cars. 3.36 diffs are easy to find. The soft brakes might just be he put the calipers on the wrong sides?? Who knows. Bad M/C? Vacuum leak?? Until you look at it in person you never really know, as for price cash is king. Make an offer and see where it goes.
