  1. I was sitting inside and we had a sudden rain shower (central florida has very unstable weather in the summer). So I grab the keys and took of for my cruise around the neaborhood. I have been avoiding the rain like the plague and still would not purposely take a joy ride on a rainy day, but I realize that if I am to enjoy the car there will be times I get caught in it. I wanted to see if the recently sealed front windshield was water tight. Good news not a drop anywhere to be found!! I looked in all the normal places and it was bone dry. Happy days!
  2. Was in Niagara Falls last night and just got to the Westin a couple minutes ago! Im going to cool off for a little and then stat looking for trouble. Errrrrr I mean entertainment. Went to Taps brew house in Niagara last night for dinner. Got some good pics of Nikola Tesla this morning and had breakfast at The Flying Saucer!!
  3. Some pics The new engine feels stronger and stronger, not one singel problem yet. Very happy with the parts i used and the work i had done to the engine. 180whp makes it move pretty fast.
  4. That's an easy fix. Let's flag his ad! Chuck
  5. Went at it late last night and got the damage repaired with the help of a buddy of mine (and a couple of beers). The welds had failed due to surface rust, nothing deep really. Cleaned it up and decided to fill in the gaps between the hatch skin and the underlying steel frame with body panel epoxy glue. Not only will this help hold the two parts together but it will eliminate any spaces between the two surfaces and prevent rust in the future. Welded the edges and also drilled and tapped holes close to the location of the original tig welds. Placed 2 screws, removed the screw heads, cleaned everything up and applied some touch up paint. Feels very solid and lined up with the car even better than before with a couple of 1mm aluminum shims we fabricated and placed between the repaired tab and the hinge. All in all, a good thing came from a lousy one. That rear end of the hatch sticking out a few millimeters beyond the car body had bothered me a lot but hadn't figured out a way to line it up any better. Finished the job at 2:00am but here are some pics. I'll shoot some more pics of the rear hatch alignment with the car body later today and post. Thanks for all the great tips once again!
  6. Thanks! No, i used the late E88 head i had on my car, boat anchor they call them : ) Well not so much i think. I have done no porting on the head But i have bigger valves and steel seats like in the N42 head. Ended up with a cc of 50 in the chambers, bigger valves ad volyme. Shaved the head to get to 44 cc. And i have the msa stage 3 kit. With some porting to the head I think it will easy make over 200hp to the wheels. It still have some power left in the tuning of the carbs. At least my dyno guy said so.
  7. It's loosening up. Should be running cooler too. Congratulations!
  8. Bring it down South, we don't need no stinkin' titles.
  9. Cliff, Didn't you listen to us? Sell the 280Z! https://gadsden.craigslist.org/cto/5713085960.html
  10. I`m beginning to wonder whether the US Northwest has replaced LA and Phoenix as the place to look for restorable classics.
  11. I have a similar issue with my Harada. I think that Siteunseen's solution looks best -- buy a cheap replacement antenna and hope that you can steal the needed part for use on the antenna that's in your car. You risk only $19. Let us know if it works!
  12. 13. Thanks for the car show pictures. Looks like a great turnout of nice S30 cars. One more hello to Janet.
  14. Plus one more. Say hello to Janet for us - saw her in one of the pics.
  15. I have installed a few of these. A couple of the tech versions on a '73 and a '71. And a RT mount made by roost monkey on my '73. The RT by roostmonkey bolted right in. The ones made by tech, I had to widen one of the bolt holes enough to get it to bolt in. The RT mount by RM, didn't have the bend for the brake lines. It cleared fine just the way it was.
  16. Just got wheel centers in ...they look good.Try out how they will look.Waiting on the bolts and the lugnuts.
  17. Hey Adam, haven't stopped by this site for a few months so just saw the message....... I'm not on Faceplant There's enough to suck the time out of my life without being active on there as well, my wife is on it so I will get her to join the group for me so I can at least keep a finger on the pulse. I did enter the Rocket in last year's Bay to Birdwood and she went ok, apart from a niggling carby issue which I have since fixed. We got to cruise most of the run to Birdwood amongst the Prince Skyline club cars, so that was really cool. We were the only 240k car!!!! Sedan or coupe, and I only saw one or two Z cars. There was like a dozen Prince Skylines though Also did a trip to Victor Harbour towing my bike to get it Dyno tuned there, she worked hard towing that trailer at 110 used a fair bit more fuel than normal and a bit of oil, but was a good trip. Don't think I'll use her a as a long haul tow car again though. How are all your projects coming along?
