You cannot put an email on BaT I have tried. They delete it very quickly. You can contact the seller. I tend to comment heavily on BaT on all Z and roadster stuff. I am SCRAPPYDO on their. I think that Z while old and unique will only reach high dollars if you get at least two preservationists bidding on it. To almost anybody else, this is a rotted car. It can be saved, but you would have to want to spend that kind of money. I mentioned it on Bat. You are only bidding on a VIN Tag. I think if you get the right bidders in their you can hit 30k. But if you are relying on just an average guy / gal who wants a Z car, this is not even close to the right car to buy. However news of early VIN cars get out quickly and if the right people find it... well this is certainly a very original car, albeit very rusty and very dented to hell car.
  4. As far as the plating goes it's "Garbage IN, Garbage OUT". They need to be cleaned up but I think it is worth the work.

Yes, Bridgestone made in Japan 175 SR 14 radial
  6. I bought my first 71' from a used car lot in Arkansas 1976 after a pickup truck thought it was mating season with my VW Bug. Paid about 3K for it. The sold it in 79 for a little more. My current one came from S GA 2014 from a "flipper" truck driver who found it in pieces and put it "kinda, sorta, mostly" back together. His first buyer had backed out after seeing the floor pan (or lack thereof) on the passenger side and responded to my voice mail 2 weeks later that I had cash. Paid 1800 and drove it home 2hrs away.
  7. You are correct in calling these fresh air ducts however... ...the left side with the larger inlet is for all 11.73 - 11.74 260z 2+2's and 9.74- 11.74 260z coupes only. 280z's never had fresh air ducts on the left because that is where the rubber inlet boot for the front air cleaner to air flow meter was situated. I have pulled enough of these to have solved this bit of Datsun minutiae.
  8. Got the silver zinc parts back from the plater. The parts came out great. Before and after pics are below.
  9. Just hope I don' have to sell the WIFE and kids to get some interior panels someday!
