  1. On the positive, I'd already lined my Mom up to come stay at my house with my dog. She's miserable helping raise her grandkids and that was something she was looking forward to, she loved the peace and quiet here while I went to Memphis. We've decided not to tell my idiot sister and her son that I'm not going so me and Mom will spend the week together here, cooking together every night! That will be as much fun to me, I'm a "Momma's boy" and happy as can be spending time with her. Life is short but Datsuns last forever.

Eiji buttoning up the bottom end of my stroker 3.1.....he really pays attention to detail. Can't wait to dyno this new puppy!
  3. Pretty sure I tried bidding on those, had to give up when they exceeded $5,000 AUD for the pair... but it would have taken care of 30% of the car rust wise (in my mind) and with the cost of a good panel beater that's probably not a bad deal! Still there was shipping and taxes on my end I had to factor in also. So I let them go, to some regret at the time. I just found another NOS 1/4 however: https://goo.gl/photos/L4u3rC8JCNevTX9y8 Which I promptly bought (even thought I'm broke) and am having shipped to Australia. I've come across a couple of LHD (drivers side panels) but this was the first (RHD) (driver side panel). It is a much needed part for HS30 00051 which had a minor love tap on it's bottom many years ago! http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/15913-project-51-in-907-green/ I'm sure the original panel could be fixed, but I actually think buying NOS works out cheaper than repairing a panel in worse shape and the finish is almost always better! NOS panels are still out there, just gotta be patient and snap them up when they become available (not when you've got the money) haha.
  4. That's great Cliff. We are about the same age and both of my parents are gone. Spend time with them while you can!!! I totally understand on being short on cash. That's one reason I couldn't do Toronto...
  5. I cant imagine how it would increase vibration. The original insulator is currently mounted against a solid surface in the strut tower. After a spacer is installed, the insulator will still be mounted against a solid surface bolted to the strut tower. So either way, the insulator is mounted against metal. But I will find out soon enough. I saw those things and bought them right away. They haven't arrived yet though.
  6. My 5/72 production car, has 40,000 miles and the original pointed tip antenna, It is the exact same antenna as far as I can tell as my four 1969 production cars and my 1970 Z-L. I don't think there are any differences in original antennas up through 1973 at least.
