  1. Got the new antenna parts in. The originals were cracked and oxidized so picked up the new parts from http://www.240zrubberparts.com/. Pics below show the old antenna parts and then one with the new parts.
  2. Mark, I mentioned to Jalex a few years ago what Steve says in the Just SUs DVD. They're shipped dry, no resistance in the float chamber to slow the float against banging around during shipping. You have his respect, I don't, maybe he'll listen and verify the floats setting. Good luck.
  3. Wow. That is a nice array of cars you have. Grats. Im a 280Z owner so I don't get hung up on on all these issues. I have being told my car doesn't count because its not a "real" S30 ...... After excepting that as their opinion, I just get on with enjoying it. That is why I bought it in the first place.
  4. This is a specialist forum. Those sailing blithely into such waters might be well advised to pay attention to the charts. 'Here be Monsters'. "...and to truly clarify further for those whose only reference for these particular cars is Wikipedia..." was perhaps - in retrospect - a little unwise, don't you think?
  5. Originally in the Dec. 2016 Grassroots Motorsports, this article may have been referenced before but it’s recently featured on GRM’s site: https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/articles/starting-z-240z-traveled-father-son-and-beyond/
  6. Even the thicker skinned get riled if you stick them hard enough...
  7. I got my extra intake back from ztherapy. I went with the euro style balance tube. They look great. I think i will have the heat shield ceramic coated in black or maybe silver. Now to decide on them or my collection mikunis. I have some sort of Japanese carb addiction.
  8. When the carbs are right it's like a new car. I drove mine yesterday, bogged it down in third gear and gave it some gas. Away I went, can't make it stumble and I try.
  9. If I have any "problems" on this forum it'll be with people who don't understand the difference between fact and fiction. You now seem to be supporting the idea of fiction as fact. You're backing the wrong horse. The car in question was being described as a "HAKO clone" when the truth is that it left the factory as a C10-series Skyline, and the vernacular 'Hakosuka' applies to ALL C10-series Skylines - regardless of model variant. He is misusing the term. Try describing a 1970 HLS30U as a "Series 1 240Z clone" and see what happens. People will - inevitably - point out the it can't be a "Series 1 240Z clone" when it already IS a 'Series 1 240Z'. That's what we are dealing with here.
  10. I replaced my EV1 connectors with these 4 years ago. Very neat compact plug. Never had any trouble with them and much easier to remove then the originals. If you buy two sets of 6 you will have enough for all the two wire connectors and two spare. https://www.ebay.com/itm/6-QTY-EV1-FUEL-INJECTOR-CONNECTOR-QUICK-RELEASE-double-sealed-/181954792631?_trksid=p2349526.m4383.l4275.c10 You can buy a complete kit for around $50 - 60, but the plugs are the long version . All these plugs are the short conpact version. And with the wire you can shorten the original wire and solder them to a clean section of wire. The TPS and AFM don't have that option. You will need a special crimping tool for them. For the 3 pin afm connector, search for "bosch 3 pin connector" https://www.ebay.com/itm/BOSCH-3-PIN-FEMALE-CONNECTOR-BMW-PORSCHE-MERCEDES-VOLVO-SAAB-WIRING-HARNESS/391975738836?hash=item5b43931dd4:g:MA4AAOSwd4tT2BJS&vxp=mtr For the 7 pin afm connector, search for "bosch 7 pin connector" https://www.ebay.com/itm/BOSCH-7-PIN-FEMALE-HARNESS-CONNECTOR-MERCEDES-PORSCHE-BMW-VOLVO-ENGINE-HARNESS/391890689846?epid=1847139851&hash=item5b3e815f36:g:NnUAAOSwxH1T2UeV&vxp=mtr
  11. I have dealt with Z therapy more than once and their service and products are outstanding!!!!! Maybe it's operator error?
  12. Forgot to say, this is some good new information. At least I've never heard it before. The Kenmeri story especially. Kenmeri sounds so exotic and racy, but it's just Ken and Mary. Funny.
  13. So what are you saying, y'all got in a big ole pile and you annoyed the ladies? That's a weekend for me. I'm a good annoyer.
  14. Ah, you've taken my correction as some kind of insult I see. Sorry but, as the owner of a genuine KPGC10, I have to stick up for what's right. The term "Hako clone" means only one thing to me, and in you car's case it is clearly inappropriate. Your car left the factory as a C10-series Skyline and it is still a C10-series Skyline. It's left the factory as a 'Hakosuka' and it is still a 'Hakosuka'. If it's a "clone" (actually, merely a lookalike despite your exhortations...) of anything then it's a clone of a KPGC10 GT-R. If you see this as nothing more than "nit picking" then you should probably have bought a genuine KPGC10 in the first place.
  15. I now have the Konig Rewinds, also. Nice upgrade in size & looks. My hubcaps are on a shelf in the garage. Dennis
  16. Went on a little drive with the Mrs..got to hangout with a Corvette owner for a bit, and annoy both our girlfriends at the same time. Sent from my [device_name] using http://Classic Zcar Club mobile

The car is complete! My car is the 305 blue 260Z in the sea of 240z's. The mechanic is putting some miles on the car and tweaking what needs to be done. It is in the testing phase. I still have not seen the car, but what I have seen in photos; WOW! It's in good company sitting next to Ms. Butter's (Rob's personal 920 gold 240z) and my buddy Glenn's Fairlady 240ZL that is on the other side of my car on the lift. This photo was sent to me and all I thought was that this is a 'dream garage.' I look forward to giving you guys more updates and a detailed review with photos of my 260z when it's back at home and terrorizing the streets! Ben
  18. Food for thought, and discussion - when the nut is fully torqued to spec. it basically turns the axle, the distance piece and the two inner races in to one solid piece. Like it was machined out of one solid piece of steel. The outer races are just along for the ride, moved only by the force of the balls. It seems to me that the companion flange bearing's outer race is not seating, causing the inner race of the wheel side to pull in to try to meet the distance piece. Already said this, just wanted it all in one post. Also, a tape measure is not the proper tool for that measurement.
  19. I have an unmolested Nov 1969 240z with original glass, odd plastic near-prototype parts that I plan to sell in 2019 on the 50th anniversary. It is also in the designer's favourite colour.

The exhaust system I went with is the new Fujitsubo legalis R. It was so hard for me to paint the rear muffler as the polished unit looked so good, but I really wanted the car to appear as vintage as possible. I scoured Japanese magazines and I found a few photos to show my mechanic what I was going for. Rob told me that he would have never done this, but after he did he likes the exhaust even more. My only concern with the exhaust is the length of the tips as the car is an early 260z and the bumpers do overhang more than on a 240z. I hope they are not too far sunken beneath the bumper. Here are the photos I took from a few Nostalgic Hero magazines of Z432's with the original Nissan twin pipe system for reference. The car is going to be finished in one to two weeks. Ben
