  1. I am with on on driving classic cars. I much prefer them. Basically all modern cars drive the same, compared to classics, where every car has it's own little quirks and personality. I have 4 classic cars from the early 70's but the only one that is on the road is my Bug, and although it is super slow, I make excuses to drive it because it is so much more fun than the new stuff.
  2. Worked on the Z today. The tank wont be ready now until Wednesday so i turned to other tasks. -Replaced the clutch slave cylinder -Removed the front bumper which was damaged on one side and I'm putting 240 bumpers on somewhere in the distant future. -Removed the brake master cylinder. It had black residue in the reservoirs and a white chaulk powder inside where it connects to the booster and overall did not look serviceable. My brakes just go tp the floor also. Ordering a new one tonight. Do you guys always buy OEM parts? I replaced my clutch salve cylinder by one from Beck Arnley. Also cleaned the outside of thr car. Probably hasn’t been properly washed in at least a decade. Here are some pics of hos she looks.

It's still going but they don't do anything mikuni anymore. I believe Dave Premo bought up the parts (http://tuning4performance.com/)
  4. If your other gauges work, you know you have voltage at the gauge. On page BE-2 of the FSM, you will find the connections between the engine harness and dash harness. Here is the tricky part. The wiring diagram on BE-5 says there are two yellow/white wires going to the engine bay. One is for the temperature gauge sender, the other is for the oil pressure sender. However, BE-2 only shows one. I believe that the yellow/white wire shown on the six connector shell is for the temperature gauge sender. You could try grounding it on the dash harness side to see if the gauge moves. Otherwise, you might need to pull the gauge and bench test it.
  5. Looks great! Did you trial fit the header? I’m trying to find out whether the Fujitsubo one has the same fit issue around the steering as the Spirit Garage header and don’t see it in this thread. Or is the header unchanged?
  6. Takes one to know one...there is a certain "je ne se quoi" of the "early" times of motoring. I bought my first 240z in the late 80's.....and not tired of them yet. Next time you are in my neck of the wood.....come on down for a test drive. bring the misses along.
  7. Dear Jeff, driving a z or any other vintage sports car is an acquired taste. while mine has power windows, door locks, AC ect however its no match for any modern form of transport, it rude, its crude, its too low, the suspension is too stiff, there is no power steering, the power is not street friendly (it explodes in at 4500 rpm and does not quit) On a positive note....unlike driving any other form of a modern transport you will have a hard time wiping that stupid grin off your face every time you (will) drive it.

  9. First car meet for this year, and rear spoiler finally painted and installed (with tape)
