  1. Made a longer trip today. Car ran great both on the highway and on the smaller roads.

I read that overhearing the driver's verbal humour can crack them up.
  3. Keep up the good work. Don't forget to hook up the condensate drain. (The black nipple to the left of the vacuum control switch). Also, (if you haven't already) would be a really good idea to make sure the heater core and temperature control water cokk are in good shape before you put the dash in. You can get to that stuff after the dash is in, but it sure is a lottttttttttt easier with it out.
  4. Ok so I have been working on the fuel tank and some suspension bolts to try to get the car back on the ground. Worked on fuel tanks for awhile. I may be repeating some of this as I forget what I have covered and not... ? Stripped the tank and treated with rust dissolver Ok, here is a test for you. Do you see a cherry tree or a puller posts??? I worked on the 280z tank for a while. It will probably have to be cut open to be made right. Some areas you just can't pull I used Caswell sealer on the 240z tank. It's a clear two part epoxy. Very tough! This is a puddle I peeled up out of the spray booth. It pulled the dirt and all off the poly floor... This is the finished 240 tank I am using Eastwood satin chassis black. I like the sheen and so far it has done well. We will see how it holds up

Not gonna debate that! Bumpers are the last thing I think about when doing a car. They are really just pretty jewelry on these cars...
  6. You want it to run best under normal driving conditions which, I'm assuming, is a daily driver. It sounds to me like it's running pretty darned good. No need to go out and run the engine hard just to check the plugs. You can, however, go out and run it hard to have fun. As long as you share your fun with us. Pics are nice, videos are better. I'd like to hear it run.
  7. They don't look too bad although #4 is still the odd one. I think I'd try swapping #4 plug wire with another wire to see if the problem moves with the wire. What is your over all impression of the way it's running? Any problems idling for long periods of time? If I was running your engine build, I would expect to have to blip the throttle now and then to clear the plugs at idle. Backfiring in the intake or exhaust? Misfiring at any RPM?
  8. Depending on what you need for rockers. There is a member on here that makes some of the parts that are NLA. @disepyon you aught to read his build thread
  9. Definitely nice knowing I have a dead to nuts center line. Tomorrow I'm going to triple check the car is level them plumb some points down and ensure everything up front is square at least within reason. Once I fi ish the driver side frame rail and tie a bit more in on the floors, the structure will be done and then the next step is replacement panels for the rockers and rear lips. I also need from fenders, always prowl g Craigslist so if you guys see a decent factory set of steel fender s let me know! What's everyones take on fiberglass fenders? Stay away or what Sent from my SM-N950W using Tapatalk
  10. Remember to pour beer on your cereal instead of milk and you're golden.
  11. Sweet! My lower pinch welds match up at 51 1/4 front and rear. I'm going to go with that for my front and rear centre reference line Sent from my SM-N950W using Tapatalk

For reference these are the stock floats Pretty much every vertical line on the float was a small crack. So they fill up with fuel. Here is the replacement from Z therapy Pretty much the same price as Courtesy Nissan so I would encourage supporting the little guy who is so good to our community!
  13. Holy s hi t! What a job by the looks of those two pics. You can do it though! Cliff
  14. I'd more likely have a beer box than cereal, both will work I imagine. Macgyver, Phillip Angus.
  15. Looks great! Glad you got the cooling system sorted. btw if you are ever in a pinch for a simple gasket, you can take the metal part and press it into the cardboard from a breakfast cereal box. Cut out the indentation with a blade and you have a gasket. Some gasket sealer such as the molasses-like Permatex Aviation Sealant works great (put on all FOUR surface to tack for 5 min then assemble). Some autoparts shops also sell rubber, coated paper, and cork gasket material in A4 sized (or similar) sheets. https://youtu.be/nBG9C0Py0Ks?t=50s
  16. Not my car but one of my R&R (Rescue & Refurb) projects: a 240Z grill retrieved from a salvage yard car. Full disassembly, damaged vertical struts were replaced with parts purchased from another member, stripped to bare metal, multiple primer coats. wet sanding, assembly, color and clear coats. Whew! This one will go up for sale at some point. Many thanks to @CanTechZ for all the research on the OE-like finish for the grill and rear finisher, see this thread:
  17. I made my own headliner, so YMMV with the MSA one, but I cut mine about a half inch or so big and tucked it under. (I was actually going to make it a little bigger, but didn't account for the curvature of the roof. Oops.) A large plastic panel removal tool worked really well for that.
