  1. I fear that if I pulled into my local dealership they would say "Hey, nice Porsche!", except for maybe one old guy in the back.....

You're just running lean. If this is a new condition, I'd suspect your fuel supply has been comprimised. Dirty filter, plugged lines, poorly performing fuel pump. On the other side of the coin, a vacuum leak lets more air in that is expected leading to a lean mixture even if the fuel system is working well.
  3. Those numbers do not sound right. Back further in this thread you posted a test from 2015 that showed 180psi to 185psi all the way across. That would show a very healthy engine. If the new numbers are now correct then something happened and needs to be corrected before any further tuning can be done. It would be fruitless.
  4. Here we go. Hopefully they will bring in more made in USA tools as a result. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trade-china-ministry/china-promises-fast-response-as-trump-readies-tariffs-idUSKBN1JB0KC
  5. Average early z, fortified with lots of 260 and 280 z parts. Notice door panels and arm rests, the dash is 72-74 I would doubt there is an original part left on it but....that is how it was back in the 80's and 90's Lets just call it...period correct.
  6. Power washed the paint off the rust on old blue two days ago. Today I removed the EFI system and harness. Tomorrow I hope to get SUs installed along with a fuel pressure regulator. Hopefully blue will make it to Atlanta and win the ugliest car award ?
  7. How is it doing these days when idling in traffic? Still overheating or loading up the plugs? Easy enough to add a hose but what "situation" is the mechanic trying to solve with the extended air intake? The compression test looks wonky to me. First, I've never seen identical compression in all cylinders in any engine. Second, If they're all at 100 psi, IMO, they're all low. My engine tested around 160 psi (+ or - 5 psi.) the last time I checked. is it possible the valves were set too tight?
  8. The old guy in the back is who I want to talk to anywhere I go.
  9. Here in my part of Canada, we are fortunate to have access to Rick Scott, parts dept manager at Brantford Nissan (Brantford, Ontario is a small city located about 60 miles west of Toronto). Rick is a long-time Z owner, restorer and enthusiast who knows the cars, the parts, the company, and the customers. He and the dealership make their lot and service area available for a Z-parts swap meet once a year. By contrast, my local Nissan dealership couldn't care less.

You are absolutely right!! I thought of it this afternoon while walking around at the junkyard, but couldn't post until now. Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Sex But Were Afraid To Ask Remember Tony Randall and Burt Reynolds in that? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nM3fglmaRrA

  12. Another lovely day with some driving. Took the youngest daughter to the candy store.
  13. Delivered Scott's completed seats for his red 78 on Saturday, a nice 70 degree spring day. Zup came over in his 240 to assist & make sure the 73 model year was represented. (Thanks for the conversation and great burgers you made later Jim!) Seats look good in the red car, which may be the one he takes to Branson this year. A happy project ending.... Some shots of the seats in the car & 1 of the modification to extend the material for the closure of the problem area of the seat backs.
