  1. I took the car out to the local fairgrounds this evening where there was a small car show going on. The gentleman standing next to my car is Randy Todd. He was the third owner of my car. I think I'm owner #6. He purchased it in California in 1985 and brought it out to Georgia in 1991. The car helped him teach his two sons how to drive a stick shift.
  2. Power washed the paint off the rust on old blue two days ago. Today I removed the EFI system and harness. Tomorrow I hope to get SUs installed along with a fuel pressure regulator. Hopefully blue will make it to Atlanta and win the ugliest car award ?
  3. LOL, nope, I plan to keep it real (ugly) but comfortable. I have BMW leather seats and plan to super sound-proof the interior. AC too...that should keep her happy. Hopefully I'll have time to build an 88mm pistoned 2.9litre with triple SK's and a low ratio differential to keep the rpm's down on the highway. Right now I plan to get SU's on the existing small chambered L28 to work out the bugs. For exterior a Gnoze spoiler ZG flares and lourvre. It will be a rat rod but comfy.
  4. Is this the same mechanic that messed with your carbs and didn't really have a clue about what he was doing? Did he explain how that "fresh" air would find its way to #4 cylinder to cure the soot problem and why the trapped hot air doesn't foul the other five plugs? I suggest finding another mechanic. 5. So I have owned several (8) 240s, 260s, 280s throughout my life and have a pretty good handle on them as far as pricing and where to go for information on them. There is a 1969 roadster 2000 on my local Craigslist that I've been eyeing for a while. I have no idea what current values are, where to get parts, what should be done first...you know, all the good articles and threads we find here on Classic. Does anyone know of a trusted form or whatever that a roadster guy should look in to? https://westslope.craigslist.org/cto/d/1969-datsun-roadster-2000/6596954244.html
  6. Working on a Nikki fuel pump for my series 1. My 240z didn’t come with the original fuel pump. Bought this one on eBay and also a nos one from Datsun 500 for 30$. The plan is to use the screws and all the rubber gaskets and internals. It’s a little more haggered then I would have wanted. Hopefully it comes out nice. The internals of the pumps are identical. I will vapor blast the 240z Nikki body and it should look brand new. I am using this write up for guidance. https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/50679-rebuilding-the-nikki-fuel-pump/
  7. Lets get a photo of your compression tester too. Do you have a good o-ring on it?
  8. Janet will be flying to ZCON no doubt!
  9. Made a longer trip today. Car ran great both on the highway and on the smaller roads.
  10. Hi Steve, Thanks. I've been going slow, title was so clear it was invisible. Just got clean title last week. If only this car could talk, there is a heck of a story in there some where. Overall great shape, major rust is confined to rear wheel arches and down to back half of rockers Front 8 inches of frame rails and radiator support have been worked on. And rear was tagged slightly, but nothing that can't be fixed, all panels have great gaps.Getting ready to pull motor and trans. to go over. Will keep posted.
