Wonder why the Internet is slow?
4 pointsExcept classiczcars.com! I've been involved in a few other forums for toys I've owned but just long enough to get the answers I needed. This is something different though. @Mike I especially thank you for what you have created here.4 points

Wonder why the Internet is slow?
3 pointsThanks @siteunseen, it's been a lot of hard work for sure... One thing I refuse to use are the pop-up ads. They are annoying and typically turn away users. The in-page banner ads have been working to help smaller sites like ours stay afloat. We have been forced to make them bigger because the small ads just don't pay as much anymore. It all depends on metrics and, as the internet changes, we all have to make adjustments. There are ways to make ads work the right way, unfortunately the bigger sites just put these ads wherever they want.3 points

1976 280Z Restoration Project
3 pointsHeading into my Christmas leave block with the military, so time to get serious! I will be working on the remaining original panels and doors, getting them down to bare steel and ready for repairs. After that I have some work to do on the front clip, prepping the old bumper shock mounts (where the rotisserie was mounted) for primer and installing the gas shock mod for the hood! Looking forward to having the front end done and all the panels ready for primer for the new year. Then let the blocking and bodywork begin!3 points

Wonder why the Internet is slow?
1 pointWhen you go to CNN.com, ~95 other websites or processes start up and your browser is overloaded. I checked other news sites and BBC loads the least. Try loading each of these websites below to see the difference of an old school site with no BS spy/analytics/snooping crap...even with lots of images it is faster. http://240260280.com/Tech/Carbs/Weber/DCOE Theory Operation and Tuning.html https://www.cnn.com/ The internet is dead.1 point

Wonder why the Internet is slow?
1 pointI'm pretty sure that these sites calculate how many users they lose against how much bandwidth that they can fill with tracking software and ads. A 56K modem used to be super-fast. The internet is not for information communication anymore, it's for commerce.1 point

Datsun-240z Vs Fairlady-z432
1 pointThe first three could equally apply to the stock Mirror(s) on the HLS30U. The fourth wasn't and isn't an issue for owners of Japanese market models as the factory didn't charge extra for them. Seriously, if they "get in the way" of working on the engine then it must be a hell of a job that needs doing? I find that they don't get in the way at all. Of course, you can reach underneath, undo just one nut and remove them in a jiffy if it's that much of an issue. Try that with the stock Export door mirror...1 point

Datsun-240z Vs Fairlady-z432
1 point- Fitting a car cover - working on the engine and leaning over the fenders - people "playing" with them in parking lots - cost almost $600 US ($900 cdn) but yes....very cool!1 point

Let’s find built date of jack and tire stopper
Here is the tool list for my 1973 240Z. Production date on the car is 10/72 - only one month after Kat's friend Mr. Shimoura's Fairlady 240 ZG (9/ 1972) . The "date stamp" is 45, 10, -3 , which, if I understand the system correctly means 1972, October 3rd - which matches the build date of my car very closely. My jack and tools are with the parts at Motorman7s place. I'll get details of those next time i'm visiting my car.1 point

78 280z Rear ended...need parts
1 pointI have concerns about reinforcement around the fuel tank. I just see a piece of steel failing to yield and breaking instead, to end up punching the fuel tank it's meant to protect. I would think reinforcement would have to be very well thought out. I think a more interesting idea would be coming up with a puncture resistant liner like fuel cells have.1 point

Is My Clutch Seized to Flywheel?
1 pointWell, you're not the first. Fidanza mucked up I'd say. Not looking great for you. http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/forum/f505/my-clutch-fused-flywheel-208321/ http://www.instazu.com/media/1834535177267711847 But there is hope...1 point

Input on power gains by swapping head.
IMHO - 44 for your engine size . If it was a bigger liter motor , or you were planning on spinning it way up high rpm , then maybe bigger valves . Can you go too big - I doubt it , so no time then the present to cover all the bases . Quite sure you can buy valves from Rebello - and he would give some free advice since your buying ?1 point

Is My Clutch Seized to Flywheel?
1 pointPut the car in to high gear and have somebody push the car while you press the clutch pedal. Or vice-versa. That should break the disc free, if it's going to break free. It sees a lot more abuse in normal service.1 point

Is My Clutch Seized to Flywheel?
1 pointI did adjust the pedal height according to the FSM prior to tearing the trans apart and replacing the internals. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to check again.1 point

78 280z Rear ended...need parts
1 pointBill, those valence brackets that you circled are welded on as well as bolted on, on my 77/280. I removed all the bolts but I think there is a weld somewhere on the top that I can't get to. Just thought I would give you a heads up, I hit it a few times with a BFH and couldn't budge them.1 point

Input on power gains by swapping head.
Kameari sell larger valves. I'm sure many others do too, but I like Kameari stuff. https://www.rhdjapan.com/search/engine/nissan_fairlady-z_s30-l28-10-1971-08-1975/model/nissan_fairlady-z/car/nissan/category/cylinder-head-and-valvetrain_valves1 point

Z Car store vs motorsport rear disc kit
I did take a look at thier stuff before pulling the trigger on silvermine. Didn't notice the e brake functionality add on. Too late now! Brakes have shipped. And for the guys interested in model etc for the brakes, i asked Edan what they are for future pad replacement reasons... As follows stage 4 front kit uses 1991 toyota 4runner v6 caliper pads. and 1983 300zx n/a front rotors stage 4 rear uses 2006 mustang gt rear caliper pads and re drilled rotors Sent from my SM-N950W using Tapatalk1 point

So we're doing a 73 restoration project
As for that filter, I bet that contaminant is from the lines, not the tank. I had my tank boiled, welded and then powder coated during the restoration. I have continued to struggle with a fueling issue after assembly and the filters filled with black junk continually. I then get a literal "drip, drip, drip" stream of fuel because I was too lazy and stupid to properly clean the lines when they were out of the car since they were in such good shape. Gas is an excellent solvent and over time and 4 filters this is on the way to resolving itself and it finally seems to be flowing properly after one more blast of the lines with carb cleaner and 60 psi last weekend. If he filter clogs up again I am going the classic tube replacement route before the yet to be procured Mikunis go on the car. So if possible don't be a dummy like me, if you get the tank done do not overlook the lines because they're all nice and clean on the outside...1 point

We could go from "politics" to "insurance" and all that's been said would be the same.1 point

A politician that doesn't play the con game, to the detriment of the people, will find themselves alone and out of office. I genuinely think there are people who go into office wanting to make a difference, but find that nothing gets done in government without kickbacks, pushbacks and compromises. It eats at you slowly until you're no longer that person that wanted to truly make a difference. How many of these people start out with a net worth of a few hundred K and are now worth tens if not hundreds of millions.1 point

Z Car store vs motorsport rear disc kit
Good to go on that, I have a box in point roberts. Ordered some motorsport stuff too in the way of carpet and seat kits. I'll claim that cheaper order and smuggle the silvermine one haha. Sent from my SM-N950W using Tapatalk1 point

Datsun-240z Vs Fairlady-z432
1 pointHi , I replaced a battery of my Z432 . This is small one , so associated parts such as a tray /a holder / a cap everything is different from the export S30 cars . The negative terminal is smaller , so you need to have a specific cable for this Japanese S30 . However , there was an optional item “ battery for cold erea “ in Japan , in that case you will have the same big battery as an export S30 . To make a label , I used a paper bag for the key as a donor, then modified it to have some authentic look . Kats1 point
